I came a few years ago for a friend's wedding and I thought the interior was so very beautiful. It was amazing. Great acoustics, beautiful art. It is the oldest church building in New Orleans, dating from 1826. It was once known as The Mortuary Chapel as all those who had passed from yellow fever, the funerals were held here. Now it has a diverse community it has outreach to. What I was really impressed with was the shrine to St Jude, patron saint to the ill. One unpleasant thing on my most recent visit was two separate people hanging out asking for money for food and drink. I get that there are needy in the area, I would just think that those who run this church and shrine would take better care of them. All in all this is a lovely place to take a seat and reflect on all that is going on in this world and the huge disparity. Also the fact that Catholics are all about the womb and not actual life, which is probably why there are panhandling on the premises.

There are several Saints located in St. Jude Church and St. Expedite may be one of them. The practice is to ask the Saints to intercede on your behalf. St. Jude is the Saint of impossible causes.
Yes. Go into the gift shop and someone will explain everything to you or if you see one of the priests (after Mass), they'll set up an appointment with you as well.
