They treat you very well at that branch. I have never had any problems with this branch.

Friendly, helpful staff that is always happy to see and help you. POSTSCRIPT: My latest visit here revealed all the long term staff (the only branch I know that had that) was gone. The new teller was fine but what the heck happened to all the old, great staff?

I cannot warn you enough to be VERY, VERY careful doing business with Wells Fargo and, even more specifically, this branch. Before talking to them, Google "Wells Fargo Opened An Account Without My Permission." You will find they are being sued in Los Angeles (by the City of LA) and have other class action suits against them. It happened to my wife at this very location. She applied for a credit line, was told they were only requesting to see how much they could give and that she would be able to say "yes" or "no" before they would proceed. The bank responded with an amount less than she was looking for and my wife politely said, "no." A few weeks later, they call her, telling her they just needed to ask a few questions about the line, in which case, she said there has been some confusion, she had said no before and does not want it. She then called her local banker (at the NW 19th Branch) and repeated that she just got a weird call and she does not want the line. They opened it anyway! This would not be so bad, but then Wells Fargo refused to shut it down and take it off her credit causing her to be unable to open another account at a reputable bank until it was taken care of. This whole process took months and it wasn't until we found out about them being sued for this very behavior, and brought it to their attention, that they were willing to do anything. The people at the bank have exhibited some of the worst customer service I have ever seen and the bank's San Francisco Lawyers are now telling us that they have permission to open accounts for people when they simply "inquire" about a line, even though the bankers say otherwise (the lawyers say they are just "poorly trained" and it's hard to train so many employees). The city of Portland needs to stand up to Wells Fargo and stop consumers from being taken advantage of.

Questions & Answers

Why is this bank always closed. Sign on the door says Mon-Fri 9-5 and here I sit yet again on a random non holiday Thursday early afternoon and guess what? Doors locked. Be nice to deposit my check so I can pay rent.

I've never run into that problem at that branch. You should ask them what's going on.
