For years I've been coming here for my infusions and want to say the staff is wonderful. My complaint is regarding the waiting area near the treatment area. Normally social distancing is observed in this area & overflow returns to the lobby unless they choose to wait in the hallway. Last week I was there & several people chose to ignore social distancing protocol & begin sitting right up under those already there. I still take precautions including 6 ft distancing; therefore, I had decided that to allow my space to be violated if approached was unacceptable. At the same time, I was aware that this could create a problem which I wanted to avoid. Luckily I was called for my appointment before being confronted with this situation. I mentioned to my nurse what had occurred in the waiting area. To avoid future problems, my suggestion is to put up signs indicating distancing is to be observed & possibly label chairs to be left vacant. Thank you.

Great nursing staff here! Actually, all of the staff here are wonderful! Very pleasant, from the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave!!

This review is for the Lobby Reception Desk and Registration areas. My first visit to this location. The lobby reception was lukewarm at best, not friendly, welcoming or caring. But Mackenzi (sp) in registration window 3 was the coldest, most unfriendly, unwelcoming, uncaring person I've ever seen in a healthcare setting. I was not welcomed or greeted, not asked how I was doing or how my day was, not a single social skill demonstrated. She never made eye contact with me, and everything that she did and said was for her to get what she needed and nothing more. At every pause, she stared silently into her computer. All the way from registration to the elevator, into the elevator and up to the 2nd (?) floor, she never looked at me or said a word, did not say goodbye, have a nice day, nothing. This is a healthcare center. From the moment I walk in until the moment I leave, I am a patient, not a set of tasks to be accomplished. Not only was this extraordinarily poor customer service, rude and disrespectful, this wasn't even the common decency you could expect to find on the street with a stranger. How this girl has a job is beyond me. If I ever have to come back, I really hope I don't have to see her and I will absolutely refuse to check in with her. The ladies at the lobby desk might take their role as the first contact a little more seriously as well.

Dr. Shauna Phelps an extremely bad oncologist working at WL but actually from Durham. Saw her December of 2019. Was told WL had only 2 surgical rooms for this doctor and her working partner. Kept pushing Durham.Told her I was not interested in doing my surgery or follow up treatment in Durham. She went ahead and booked a date anyway that was like 2 days away! Zero personality, terrible with patients, and I believe incompetent. A very stressful experience. I ended up having everything done at Wake Forest Baptist with an excellent surgeon.

I disagree. She reached out to me right away to see if I needed anything.

My wife has been billed for radiation treatments she never received. We have tried contacting staff at the cancer center, but they don't return our calls. We have contacted PatientCo and Aetna. What else can we do?
