Many of my clients have told me they'd rather have root canal vs. having their headshot done. I have a process and style that helps you feel comfortable and look your best - check out my reviews and see what my clients say. Technically, I shoot "tethered" meaning that the images are instantly displayed on a monitor positioned near where you're standing so you'll be able to see how you look, what helps you look your best - you'll know you have great images to choose from before you leave the session.

This depends on the look/branding you're going for. In general, solid colors work best as they're less distracting. Darker colors tend to make people look slimmer, and are more often used in business. My individual sessions include clothing changes, allowing my clients to bring a variety of outfits so we can "play".

For most business purposes, a plain background is best as it is less distracting - white, grey, black colors are a great match for all colors of clothing/skin/hair. For a more artistic look, subtle hand painted backgrounds or other solid colored backgrounds can be used, often to complement specific clothing/makeup (for women) or even eye color. For more casual shots, blurred outdoor backgrounds can also be used, although they are not generally recommended for business purposes. Whatever the choice, the background should help direct the viewer towards the main area of interest/focus.

My sessions include a phone consultation prior to the session so we can discuss a variety of things including hair, makeup (if applicable), clothing options, background color, the look you're going for, where you're going to be using the images, your "brand", etc.. Clients find this extremely helpful.

Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Weekends are by special appointment only and may incur additional costs.
