Ocean County provided free rabi shots for all domestic pets. They were able to provide this service since many small business were closed down during the 2020 shutdown... the clinic was given funds from the CV19 funds...

They were very nice and caring

I have been in many shelters, humane society, aspca over the years. This place is so clean ! and the animals are so SO well taken care of. The staff went above and beyond the call Of duty when it came to my rottie and I’ll FOREVER be grateful.

Mr DB,, what type of dog is it,, how old?? there may be someone who reads these that may want your dog,,
Yes, as long as it is unopened.
$65 I beleive same day adoption that is wat they charged me
Call animal control to pick them up as the shelter can't accept animals from people who don't own them.
Do you have pictures of dogs up for adoption
Yes we are always looking for Fosters/ Volunteers. Give us a call first week of April
Hi Im sorry to hear that . You can take him to a local animal shelter pay the fee to surrender the dog. Is a very easy process.
Call them
Always. Flat sheets. Twin comforters. If they can't fit in the waning machine they can be used once and thrown out.
Yes as long as the items are in good condition.
Call the Ocean County Humane Society on Fremont Street in Jackson. They have appointments to give pets FREE rabies shots. You will have to wait in line with your pet for at least 30 minutes outside the shelter until it is your turn. The shelter staff is very nice & professional.
Call animal control
No cats and dogs
@KennyGreuter I was there a week ago and they didn't have!
As long as you got the vaccine there,,they were pretty helpful with me
That probably all depends on how fast you want your answer the best thing would be to call when they are open they'll be able to help you immediately as opposed to getting put on a list and not knowing when one will call back
If he is chipped when somevody finds him ,will make easy to return
If you keep the cat longer than (I believe) 2 weeks you technically become the owner of the cat and are responsible for it's welfare. You could surrender it to the shelter for a $45 surrender fee. They will evaluate it to see if it is healthy/adoptable, and if so they will take care of it until an adoption can be arranged. If you have the cat for a few days, you can call the Animal Control Officer to come pick it up and they will bring it to the shelter.
Blankets, yes. Preferably twin size, but definately welcome. They get washed daily so they must fit in the washer. Food is trickier as changing up the cats and dogs diet can result in stomach upset and diarrhea. Cats get Friskies. Dogs get Pedigree. If you bring something other than that it will be donated to a food bank. They cannot accept open bags of dry food. Thanks for asking!
Sorry, no. They do not perform grooming services for the public. Try PetSmart or someplace like that.
Look on line for a rescue
They except sheets, towels, blankets, just about all bedding
No, it is not. There is no such thing in NJ. If an animal is so sick they can't function, or so aggressive they pose a danger to the health of the human population, they have to be humanely euthanized.
I would recommend a cat rescue to find them a home not a shelter in my opinion
You can try petco or petsmart and see if they are adopting rats. If not you can buy them for $12-15
East Coast Spay and neuter clinic on hazlewood ave in Toms River, NJ
Jackson Shelter has free rabies clinics the 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month. Their sister shelter. In Manahawkin has them on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays. They are always between 11 and 11:30am. You need to call to save a spot as they only have 60 shots available. If you bring proof of prior rabies shot you get a 3 yr shot, if you don't it's a 1 yr shot.
You have to call or go during regular business hours and look.
Best to visit in person
I do not believe they can accept upholstered chairs as space is very limited. I do not know of a facility that does.
Ms dana. .. you need to calk them directly. This forum is to tell of experiences and what we thought. It is not a direct to the shelter.. sorry. Glad you had a great experience and are ready for another! Consider an older, they so need homes!
Sure there are usually always some, call or just go to see them
If you'd like to surrender him, sure. It would cost $65 either exact cash or check that matches adress on drivers license. Bring proof of ownership and any vet records you may have. They are open 1 to 4pm 6 days a week and 1 to 6:30 on Wednesdays. They do not guarantee adoptions, but as long as the dog is healthy and passes the temperament test he should be adoptable.
Available dogs change frequently, so if I tell you what is available today and you go tomorrow, that dog may not be there. It is best to call and ask. The cost to adopt is $60 exact cash or check that matches the address on your driver's license.
Call the shelter
Yes
Show up any afternoon between 1 and 4
Ok. Take it to the shelter
No
Yes there is.
Absolutely
The shelter does have a meet and great room where you can meet and play with any dog that is up for adoption. The shelter opens at 1 to the public.
Contact the shelter for that information
The amount and type of cats we have changes daily so it is best to call the shelter and ask.
