Customer service's heart was not in it

I’m shop in Best Buy a few times a year to buy electronics I need. A few days ago, I received an email from—who I thought—was GeekSquad. I was being charged $359 for a protection plan. Luckily, I went to the store and NATE advised the email was fraudulent and that EVERYONE needs to be careful with emails. The scam was that I was to call a number and be convinced to pay over the phone! Thanks to NATE!

One of their drivers cut me off on Wendover Avenue. Then pulls up beside me with vile hand gestures and wanting me too pull over.. I do believe he is a hazard while driving a company vehicle. Date 6-3-2022 time approximately 2:30! If I need anything concerning electronics I will never call for their service!

Drove half and hour to this location to see what the problem was with my phone . I had told them as soon as I got there that my phone would not turn on .. They spent 5 minutes looking at it just to tell me what I had already said . Customer service was terrible , the woman I talked to wasn’t even part of the Geek Squad . She asked me what happened to it and walked away in the middle of me trying to answer her question . Clearly different professionalism since the last time I came here for a phone repair .. I went to a third party repair place before coming here and he tried for 2 hours before declaring nothing was working . They could learn a thing or two from him ..

If it had Windows 8 or Windows 10, it would be just a labor cost. This is because the activation codes are built into the motherboard. If it had Windows 7, it might at least be able to use the code sticker on it to activate Windows 10 (though the specs of the unit may mean that only Windows 7 would work well in that case).
Battery is most likely close to or already at end of life. That or you might have a laptop that has a feature that protects the longevity of the battery by not charging above around 80%. This is done because modern batteries actually degrade faster if constantly kept above around 80% or below 40%. Older rechargeable batteries used to require/live longer by draining them down to dead and then charged back to 100%. But now it is about keeping them more in the middle.

You def will have to call and talk to them about that. They are open for walk ins now
A lot of the time it just needs power flush. Which would involve disconnecting the battery, and holding the power button for like 20secs. Then reconnecting the battery. You could bring it into the store and they could try it for you.
