I have tried calling for weeks, no one will answer the phone in the morning or return a voicemail. I have messaged via Facebook and they will read the messages but not reply. I have sent e-mails with no reply. I'm not sure if they are actually open anymore.

The humane society doesn't have a vet on hand. They used to offer vouchers to use like a coupon to get your pet fixed at a local vet, but not anymore.
So, currently they cannot help us get our pets fixed.
I know this is outdated but I figured others might be looking for this answer as well <3

The humane society does not have a vet on hand and most likely can't help with injuries. A local animal hospital should be open 24/7 or at least available by phone. There are several vets available around Augusta if anyone has the time to call around to see who's open & at what price.

Will the Augusta humane society intervene in horse neglect? I don't know who to contact directly about this but there are 2 horses on Maddox Road, off of Wrightsboro Rd, that are skin and bone. It is extremely heartbreaking.

There is normally no wait time for taking in cats, but you will want to call ahead during our open hours on Monday between 6 and 8 pm or Saturday between 11 am to 4 pm to speak with a supervisor about the process.

If he is Microchiped, call the company, like HomeAgain, and report him as lost so they'll keep an eye out, and have your most up to date info, as well as post on the shelter Facebook page for list and found. Post pictures around your neighborhood, AND TAKE WALKS. He may be in the area, when I lost my dog, he hid in the bushes a few houses down, and when you find him, take him on walks so he is more familiar with the area and can find his way home.
