Far (FAR) better than the Southeastern Camera in Raleigh. The staff is friendlier, more knowledgeable and prices are much better. If you shoot with film and vintage lenses, this location offers a massive selection of gear. Those who shoot digital also get a reasonably good selection of new lenses and accessories. However, nowhere near as much as the selection at the Raleigh location. The town of Carrboro itself isn't worth the visit, but Southeastern Camera certainly is. There's also a film lab on hand to develop your hard work. Being one of the only camera shops left in North Carolina, this place is definitely worth the trip.

This place is the BEST! As a new photographer, I went in pretty clueless one time looking to upgrade my camera and lenses and Graham (if I remember right) was so patient and answered all my questions thoroughly. Later, I created some chaos for myself when long story short, I ended up with a dead battery minutes before a photoshoot, but Chris totally saved the day! He very kindly went out of the way to ensure I had plenty of batteries and a charger for the shoot. Everyone here is so nice and it has gone a long way to me, as someone who recently moved here from across the country and doesn’t have a lot of “go to” places yet. This is definitely one of them now!

We buy & sell used cameras, lenses, & photography gear at both our Carrboro & Raleigh locations. We generally ask that you drop off the gear & leave it with us to evaluate condition, & we will contact you & let you know what it is worth.

Hi, Sony digital cameras need to be sent to an authorized Sony Repair Facility. We are an authorized Sony dealership, but we do dot handle repairs on site. We can give you an estimate based on the camera, & we can send it in for repair if you decide to proceed. The shipping & handling round-trip is $30.

Our standard turn around for color C41 process film is next business day after 4pm. We can often do same day, but there may be a rush charge.
