I signed an agreement on March 3,  2022 to sell my Thousand Trails membership for $1500. I was told it would take 3 to 4 weeks. After six weeks I was told Thousand Trails Transfer Dept was backed up and it would be in the next batch. Six weeks later on June 3, I was told that a check was sent on 5/22. They confirmed they had the correct address and said they would stop payment on the check and reissue the check sending it priority mail and send a tracking number. On June 17, I sent an email asking did I need to post on BBB to get my check. I then got my priority tracking number and received the check on June 24. I am posting as this is a pattern with them; to delay, say a check had been mailed and they will stop payment and  reissue, and then delay again. I wanted to let others know; telling them you will file a BBB complaint causes them to issue a check. You will find this exact scenario in BBB complaints and in reviews on their Facebook page.

I am selling a Thousand Trails membership for a deceased relative. Thousand Trails sent me the info to contact Campground Membership Outlet. Working with Melissa at Campground Membership Outlet, the sale process began in Jan 2022 with the expedited sale option of 4 weeks. According to the company, the membership was sold April 8th 2022. Melissa and I exchanged many emails and phone calls, mostly me following up on the sale and now the payment. After the sale of 4/8/2022 I thought I would be seeing the payment arrive within a week or two. I call/email to follow up on 5/2/2022. Melissa responds to my email stating the check was mailed out on 4/29/2022. I wait for two weeks, follow up again on 5/16/2022. Melissa responds with someone from our accounting office will reach out with a tracking number within the next two weeks. During the second half of week four I’m still awaiting a follow up from their accounting department. I followed up with Melissa again on 5/25/2022 about sending the payment priority overnight as Melissa stated. Melissa responded with a tracking number for USPS Priority Mail. I received the check on Tuesday 5/31. Deposit the check on 5/31. My bank notifies me on 6/1 that the check is returned due to insufficient funds or a false account. Like many other reviews have stated this is a FRAUDULENT SCAMMING business. They will run you around, mail out fake checks. I have ordered the BBB to do an investigation on this company and if need our justice services to receive payment. If you are reading this before you do business with this company consider yourself warned.

Purchased membership took twice as long to receive than expected. Communication with the company is a joke. They take your money then ghost you. If everything works perfect, you are golden. If not, you are on your own. We had mixed results with our purchase and will never do business with them again.

We purchased a used Thousand Trails membership from Campground Membership Outlet back in 2020. I contacted them again last month to sell the membership, and we just received our check. Kimberly is beyond outstanding. She is incredibly knowledgeable about Thousand Trails and her email communication is excellent. The company is slow to respond to phone calls. Thank you so much for the great service Kimberly!
