WORST, MOST UNQUALIFIED STAFF EVER. They got my prescription wrong TWICE. The first time they gave me glasses with a prescription so strong that I got headaches every single day and unbearable eye strain. The second time I opted for contact lenses because the doctor failed to tell me that I have prisms in my right eye that cannot be corrected by contact lenses. I only discover that when I notice I have acquired esotropia (eye crossing inward) causing double vision and discomfort. I now need vision therapy or possibly surgery to correct this problem. I’m very grateful to have decent insurance provided by the city to mitigate the costs. I implore people with no insurance to look elsewhere. Absolutely horrible. Would not recommend.

Thank you to Optical Outlet I can see again. They were super nice and very respectful.Dr Rodriquez was super Awesome 👌.Very respectful, calm ,and answer all my questions and concerns. ILiana was awesome too..she was very sweet. She was very helpful I'm finding the right pair of glasses to fit me. She understood what I wanted. When I came to pick them up she was there to answer my questions and to help me see what she sees that the pair of glasses we picked were beautiful on my face and we made a great choice. Thank Optical Outlet for being Super Awesome.

Bought a turquoise frame, ended up with dark blue. The swear that what I chose. I had dark ones before what's trying to get a lighter color frame. Paid extra because I wanted the frame I chose. Try to fight with no success.

What do I need to bring to an eye exam?

It’s essential to remember to bring your current eyeglasses or contact lenses prescription to your visit. If you also wear reading glasses, computer glasses, protective eyewear, or other visual aids, you may want to bring these as well. Because getting your pupils dilated can leave you sensitive to light for several hours following your appointment, it’s wise to bring sunglasses to the appointment

How often are eye exams needed?

Optical Outlets | Sep 8, 2021
Optical Outlets | Sep 8, 2021

While it’s always a good idea to have an annual eye exam, how often an eye exam is needed depends on several factors. A patient’s age, family and personal medical histories, a previous eye injury, existing eye conditions, and environmental or occupational factors determine the recommended frequency. The American Optometric Association offers specific guidelines for both children and adults. As your trusted partner in care, our office will discuss the most appropriate schedule to protect the health of your eyes and the quality of your vision.

Does insurance cover vision care?

Optical Outlets | Sep 8, 2021
Optical Outlets | Sep 8, 2021

If you have vision insurance, you can expect to have coverage for some aspects of care. While every vision plan offers specific benefits, they generally offer some coverage for routine care such as annual exams and eyewear. If your eye condition qualifies as a medical issue, some coverage under your medical insurance may apply. We’re happy to answer any questions on vision insurance and to work with you to optimize your benefits. Although our financial office is well versed in the complexities of insurance coverage, it’s always a good idea to review your specific benefits with your HR department or insurance carrier.

I HIGHLY suggest making an appointment. They might be able to squeeze you in but it may not be possible (I tried once but they were too busy.) Call them ahead, especially if using insurance.

What insurance do you take

Mike Scavone | Sep 9, 2018
Jose Gonzalez | Sep 9, 2018

It's better if you call them. They do take most insurance plans, but often it's just as cheap with their offer (if you stick to basics, i.e. no thinner lens, no anti-glare, Transition, etc...) Staff is not overly helpful to figure this out, so I suggest to check with your insurance and compare (insurance vs their offers.)
