The head of the Charles was an amazing event. My school raced in it and it was thrilling to watch them go down the river. It was very crowded and packed full of commercial venders. Food is quite limited and overpriced. I would recommend just going to real restaurant and getting food if you have the time. If you have never been to the Head Of The Charles, then you should put this on your list.

This is a wonderful weekend. For racers a fantastic event. Do it if you ever have a chance. For spectators, pick your spot! The rowers can hear you as they come under the Weeks footbridge; the trickiest turn is under the Eliot bridge (also where the announcers are located, and they identify each crew and often offer a bit of history and words of encouragement as they go by); and the finish line offers food, vendors of all descriptions, and the chance to say "hi" to your rowers after they relax.

What an excellent regatta! I raced here on 10/19/13 and was really impressed by the size of the regatta and the excellent coordination that went into making this race run seamlessly. The Charles is a stellar course!
