I've lived in this town, practically right around the corner, for 8 years & have yet to visit Val's. Well, today that changed. We were greeted by the lovely bar area, since it was prime lunch hour time. There's plenty of awards and articles to browse during the wait. I chose to sit in the bar area since it was more open and had brighter natural light. We ordered mocktails which the bartender/server did an amazing job with. It would have made a nice summery fun with booze too. The house dressing was light and flavorful. My husband got the spinach pie which was flaky and delicious if you like that sort of thing. I ordered their Ravioli Special ..... which was AMAZING. I see why all the awards. So glad we finally made it by. No kids and a fabulous lunch with the husband?! I'll take it!

I was inquiring about having a rehearsal dinner at Val’s earlier this week with Val herself. I’ve been busy and I hadn’t yet touched base with Val since our conversation on the phone. My husband decided to go to dinner and instead of heading to Worcester he mentioned Val’s Restaurant instead. Great idea since we have never eaten there before. That would be a great chance to experience the atmosphere and food before the rehearsal dinner. The atmosphere was very calming with light instrumental music playing. We were seated promptly and our waitress was so pleasant and attentive. The French onion soup was amazing! The broth was very light, not salty and had a strong beef flavor that was not overpowering. Just wonderful. My seafood grilled kabob was so moist and grilled perfectly as was my husband’s lamb kabob. Lamb was cooked perfectly, not dry at all. I was pleasantly surprised dining at this restaurant I’ve heard so much about. I would definitely go back there again! We ended up meeting Val, as busy as she was with hosting a party in the back of her restaurant. She was so engaging, happy and looking forward to meeting with me about my booking. She put me at ease with the menu options, etc….. I cannot say enough about our interaction or the meal itself! Absolutely enjoyed my impromptu dinner at Val’s. Try it, you cannot go wrong!

Val's is and always was, an amazing dining and ambience experience. Just seeing and talking with Val herself walking among and enjoying the groups of diners enjoying their food, is an experience in itself! We love Her, her always delicious Food and the always friendly Staff and will continue to do so! Such a pleasurable, great spot to hear relaxing Live Music while dining! A "MUST" dine, in Central Massachusetts!!
