Charming old library with a good selection of books. The kid’s section is great, it also has toys and puzzles. There is a summer reading program going on right now.

This is one of my favorite local libraries. The building is beautiful and well maintained. There is a excellent selection and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. There is a great dedicated section for children and there is always some sort of activity or program going on for adults and children alike. I also love that they do a food drive in exchange for late fees at least once a year...what a great way to give back and clear my debts!

Unfortunately, due the short notice we had on the closing we can not reschedule the discussion. They will, however, dedicate some time at the next book club meeting to discuss the title in brief.
At this time we do not circulate Xbox games at the Gale Free. You can inter-library loan video games from other libraries in the CW Mars system (central and western MA) and pick them up here. Please check the catalog for the title you are looking for or call the reference desk at (508) 210-5569 to have someone help place a hold on a title.
The Book Cellar is Holden’s used book store, located in the basement of the Gale Free Library, accepts donations of good used books on the 2nd and 3rd Saturdays from 10 AM to 12 PM. Please consider donating books, audio-books, CDs and DVDs that are in good, saleable condition. We cannot accept VHS tapes, toys, games, puzzles, records, magazines, software, textbooks, or encyclopedias. No books with mold please.
