Excellent small plates restaurant AND burger!! I had to take a few different angles of the burger to make sure I truly captured it best because I rank this is a top 3 burger of all time. The crunchy cheese crisp, the sauce, and it was well salted. As much as I enjoyed the burger, however, the other small plates were really excellent! The broccoli and cauliflower were great, and the focaccia was also good. However, what I think was the star of the show was the basil pasta—some of the best pasta I've ever eaten. I tasted homemade, there was a little bit of spice to it, and it was honestly perfect. Try the secret burger (they only make about 40 per night), but get the pasta too!

I can’t say I understand the hype. Service 5, food 3, maybe. Kale salad was solid- in taste and as a solid green citrusy mountain. But their adventurous plates didn’t really do it for us. They were beside themselves that we didn’t take to the chicken “nuggets”. I suppose we shouldn’t order ambiguous meat in quotes. The rabbit wasn’t my thing but my dinner mate enjoyed it. The secret burger was more charred than I like and dripping in sauce, if you like it that way. I left feeling heavy and fried out. Perhaps that was our ordering mistakes? The menu rotates, so better luck next time. With so many good options in H Square these days, I might stick to drinks and simple Americana here if I return.

I visited this place around brunch/lunch. They have decent high quality food. I would definitely try it for dinner as well. The portions may be a bit small, but the food is good so highly recommend.

I went to Alden & Harlow for brunch with some friends. The menu is pitched more as small plates to share, but I just got the tasty Carbonara dish for myself and I thought the portion size was great for one person. However I wouldn’t advise that strategy for every dish. The Sweet Corn Pancakes, while delicious, are very small and would not make a great meal by itself. Came back here for dinner and the food was great like it was for brunch. I know it’s supposed to be shared and small plates but the prices and portions don’t seem to match that mentality for all items. I got a burger for myself and it felt like a normal one person entree and difficult to share.
