Jo's American Bistro was excellent from the service down to the quality of the food! The evening started at about 7pm when my group walked up to the entrance and was greeted by the owner herself who had been working since 7am and stepped out for a breather!! That was amazing to begin with and she greeted us as if she had just began her shift. We were seated immediately and attended to swiftly. The server was great and very helpful with the suggestions for our group, and the food was amazing like she promised. We started with a few apps, Steamers, Fried Calamari and a Clam Chowder which the group may have began to eat before the pictures (which is why some of the shells are already empty in the photo) and nonetheless it was all delicious. Onto the entrees, I picked the Fried Fish sandwich with a side of fries and coleslaw and a serving of Lobster Oscar on the side (which was amazing with almost a hollandaise-like sauce on top which I never had). Next was an order of the Salmon, and lastly the Lobster Carbonara! Absolutely everything was delicious and they used high quality ingredients. We had zero complaints about anything we had pertaining to the food. To finish it off I got a delicious dessert that was wine and sorbet with fruit (sadly forgot the name) and it was everything they said it would be! No regrets with this experience and wonderful people. Only small note I could give is that they alcohol was a little light in the drinks, besides this 10/10 experience!! Go visit them asap please.

A must visit (just make a reservation ahead of time). Was blown away by my experience here! One of the best pork chops I’ve ever had in my life. Awesome waitstaff, quick service, and a beautiful but intimate vibe. Next to Pasta Beach, this is my favorite restaurant in Newport.

Really tasty! I loved their simple side salad and the fish and chips was brilliant, not greasy at all. My husband had the duck quesadilla. Our server was awesome too.

Worth the walk from Thames Street. Get off the beaten path and check out Jo's. You won't be disappointed. It's an incredibly clean, very well maintained with an upscale feel without the upscale prices (in relation to Newport). The service, drinks, and food were all excellent. There were no complaints from anyone in the party.

Jo's opens for lunch on Saturday and Sunday from 12-3:30pm but does not serve breakfast or brunch.
There is street parking and you can call the request and ask about validated parking.
Don't know but they handle food allergies very well and cook to order. Likely can prepare without.
Yes and it comfortable, but it's limited. Be sure to make a reservation.
Too strict. They ask that you keep your mask on, even at your table. Even when staff comes over. So if you're in the middle of eating and staff comes over. They won't approach the table until you put it on. Also the staff won't put the food down on your table until you put your mask on. Completely pointless. Won't be returning.
Lunch is only on Saturday and Sunday
