Really excited to ride the train. We secured a table in the bar car to have some more space and better access to the cocktails. Train personnel were amazing! Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The bag lunches were good, but we could have saved a few by ommiting them. The big letdown was no air conditioning in the bar car. It was out and no one told us before we boarded the train. We stuck it out for 45min in a very stuffy, hot train car, before requesting the conductor move us to another car. Ahhh, cool air. Much better. Be sure to ask about the A/C before boarding and once boarded, if it feels like there's no air moving, ask to change cars. Makes a big difference. Train ride is nice, though the scenery near Hyannis isn't much to look at. Bogs are just dry land and the tracks travel through the woods for a while. The real treat is the canal and bridges. Absolutely stunning scenery and the narration provided paints a picture of bygone era of how the Cape was built up to facilitate America's needs. We would certainly be back again as long as the comforts of the train cars are in working order.

This would be a 3.5 star review 💚the good stuff : - train itself is really fascinating, feels like stepping back in time - service is great, the crew is upbeat and they time the food neatly. - food is surprisingly above average. Chowder was tasty but not overly salty. Tenderloin was perfectly cooked (and good quality), scallops were soft and nicely presented. It seems they have a proper kitchen, so good job guys! 🚫 the not so good stuff: - the experience is advertised as “scenic” but… not really actually. We pass through parking lots, shabby sheds, people s backyards, tall trees . For some reason a golf course is considered one of the highlights of the trip. Sure, the bay and the marshlands are really nice but not enough - taking the 5.30pm train means that a solid 40min are spent in the dark. While the sunset is of course always welcome, it’s again not enough to justify 20% of the trip going to waste in the dark -the seats and the table are tight! uncomfortable for tall and/or large folks like me

My partner and I got platinum tickets for the dinner train and it was so lovely!! The vintage club car is very private and sweet as there are only four tables. The ride was very scenic and the conductor told us many interesting facts about marshes/stations/etc. as we passed through. I've lived on Cape my whole life and even I learned some things! I have two minor complaints/comments to make, but only one is really within the railroad's control. The first is that people did not really dress up at all; it was your typical Cape Cod attire with polo shirts and golf shorts. This isn't a big issue, but just a comment in case anyone was curious! My second comment which applies more for the train, is I wish there were more vegetarian/vegan options. I had the eggplant rollatini (which was very good!) But I had to ask about meat in the appetizer, which there was, and I was given a fresh fruit platter instead (which was also yum!). Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my food, but I wish there was a vegetarian button to click when buying tickets, that way you 100% know your food is safe. I recommend this train, as well as the platinum tickets if you're able to go that route, and I hope to do some of their other excursions in the future!!

I had a lovely and relaxing jazz brunch on the here. It is totally worth trying. The food is good and very spread out correctly being 3 course. The jazz music was a great touch and really gave the right mood for the brunch. I want come again when I visit Hyannis next. It has definitely made my trip.
