The apartments are similar to section 8 urban housing. Property is antiquated.

I enjoyed living here. I would recommend it to others.

I am currently on my second year living at Cedar Crest Apartments. The apartments are decent size and good quality and are right down the road from most big-name businesses in Amsterdam which has been convenient. In my experience the grounds have been well maintained year-round. During the winter, after snowfall, plows go through the parking lot and grounds crews shovel the sidewalk and put salt down. I have never had an instance where snowfall hindered me from driving out of the parking lot or walking along the sidewalk. There have been a few instances where the garbage bins have been overfilled, but this was uncommon, and I was still able to dispose of my trash. Someone previously had mentioned that some of the benches were broken, all of which appear to have been removed a few months ago. The last couple weeks I’ve regularly seen people tending to the grounds now that winter weather is behind us. Maintenance has been quick with any issues I’ve had. I recently had our dryer break, and maintenance was able to replace the unit the following day without issue. There are some minor blemishes; the front doors could probably use some fresh paint and some of the handicap signs are cracked, but overall, I haven’t seen any significant issues. The apartments are also pet friendly and have designated places with plenty of grass for walking. The price to live here is more expensive than you can find elsewhere in Amsterdam, but I’ve felt that I’ve gotten my moneys worth.

Whats the rental price

I pay $1080 monthly after all their increases & had to show proof of bank checks cashed by them that rent was current! So plan on paying extra for security of paying with bank checks! Once you're here and pay your non-refundable pet fees, $350-$500 per pet, they say they need more $ for your pets. Shortly after you pay that they put a letter in the mailbox that they're also raising your rent $15-$35 per month. You'll pay extra for a washer & dryer monthly. Garage is also an added $85ish per month. If you're late with a rent payment there's a pretty large late fee also added on.

Are criminal background checks done on all employees in all states?

I would feel more secure with the frequent intrusions, inspections, lost rent payments & loitering if the staff provided last names. Background checks of owner & manager would be enlightening if we have safety/property concerns. Isn't that a Renter's Right in NY?

Do you allow loud dogs and music

There are dogs barking when appropriate. Apt management leaves papers in the door announcing their 24 hour notice to come into Apartments often requiring you to make arrangements for your dogs... then they don't show up and add more 24 hour notices for the rest of the week! The area to walk your dogs is very uneven, swampy & there's no lighting at all... I can't count the amount of falls I've had back there. Four wheelers frequently tear up the ground back there making it unpredictable. However, there are many nosey neighbors that complain constantly! The walls & floors are very thin so if you don't like dogs... be reasonable. Babies cry & dogs bark & elderly neighbors talk very loudly even when they're calling in their daily complaints to the owners. You can actually hear both sides of the phone conversations through the walls. Music playing loudly is really rare. If at all it's during the day.

Are there noisy dogs?

Of course. Dogs bark & play just like babies cry & play. If you're not a dog person or really hate dogs why would you move to a pet friendly apartment complex? Don't worry though, the new notice to tenants encourages the neighbors to take pictures of tenants walking dogs that poop & don't clean it up. This is to apply the new fines of $50, $150, & "3rd violation eviction!" It states "if you see someone not picking up after their dog feel free to send a picture to the main office."

Do they have 4 bedrooms?
