My family rented a home in VT through Vacasa. We were really looking forward to our trip, then Vacasa canceled our rental with less than 4 weeks notice during high season. We could not find another suitable place to stay on such short notice, better luck next year I guess. If you rent from Vacasa, you better have a backup plan, or be prepared to cancel your vacation.

Stay away. We stayed 4 nights at a Sugarbush rental. Hot tub gave everyone a disease, hot tub folliculitis, because it was dirty and clearly not maintained, it has TVs in each room, but 1/2 of them don't work. They say there is a gaming system, there isn't, they say there is a house stereo, there isn't, they advertise a car charger, it is broken. We called them while we were there, they never called back. We called them after we left, never heard back. Horrible service.

Consumer Beware: We had a plumbing issue during our recent Ski Trip to Stowe, VT. Not only did it take them 4 hours to tell us they weren't coming to even look at the bathtub, they hadn't started looking anywhere for a replacement until 10:30 PM at night and offering something 45 minutes away after a full day of skiing and snowboarding. When we asked for a refund of any sort, they offered that, after destroying our toiletries, leaving the bathtub covered in human excrement for an entire evening, telling us we couldn't use the other bathroom and needed to just 'wait', finding dried bloodstains on the sheets and comforters, forcing us to sleep on the small couches due to the noxious odor, and a garbage disposal that shot refuse and water at you when you turned it on, we could get back our $95 CLEANING FEE. We have been on the phone with their customer service for most of the week trying to get someone to listen or talk to us and have had no luck at all. Having a functioning bathroom and a tub not coated in poop is apparently not guaranteed in the rental contract. I would post pictures, but trust me. You do not want to see them.

My mom and I rented the apartment at 31 Pleasant St, Unit B in Ludlow, VT for three days in July while taking a course at Fletcher Farm School, and it was perfect for our needs. The bedroom was very quiet and private, which Mom loved. I slept on the pull-out sofa, which was nice and firm. While I have slept on many pull-out sofas in the past, this one was a very different design and much more comfortable than the traditional style. (A side note is that the entire left hand side of this sofa picks up and the sheets, pillows, and blankets are stored in there. I didn't know this and, after looking everywhere (including the fridge) for sheets, I had to call and get assistance.) All of the appliances, fixtures, utensils, dishes, pots n pans, and furniture were in brand-new condition, and the place was perfectly clean. The air conditioner was just a window unit in the living room, but it cooled the place down plenty so long as you left the bedroom door open. The apartment is only one block away from the main street, but it was a whole lot quieter. We could walk to all of the shops, restaurants, and grocery store easily. We would definitely rent this place if we find ourselves visiting Ludlow again.
