This place is literally pointless I went to update my information the lady at the front desk took my original copies of my bank statements following two weeks since I updated I call in there’s no progress they haven’t even view my case they want unreasonable request of paperwork that I don’t have it’s been months since I’ve received any updates on my care they are honestly giving me the run around !!!

We’re still giving those government employees a stay home vacation. I was told by the five guards sitting by the front door that there was no one in the building. I had to phone using the numbers posted on the front door. Thanks for nothing.

Even one star is a waste! I had my ssn interview and they lost whole track of my interview and even blamed on me that I didnt show up on the date(dont they have cctv in the builiding?) and the lady who was in charge never give me a call back to reschedule and keep mentioning about the same thing over again as above. If one specific person cant handle the case, they should let other representative be. It keep delaying my all other stuff that needs to be done back. They need to do some maintenance on employees and calling manners. They are so irresponsible. Highly NOT recommending this place.

Absolutely incompetent. Sent in documents to get our newborn son a SSN, including my drivers license. After receiving the documents back weeks later, we waited even longer to receive nothing. Called the office and nothing had been processed. Someone got our documents, mailed them back to us, then shredded our application. Apparently we needed another document, but there was no indication of that. So we've been sitting here for nothing, and there was not even any record they received anything, so we don't even know who screwed us over. Completely unaccceptable. They should be embarrassed to work here.

Same thing for me - this has been the most frustrating experience!
Definitely annoying. But being government employees, they do indeed work for us. It may well be that that they are understaffed for the volume of calls they get. There's an option to have them call you back instead of waiting on the line.
Best way to deal with these clowns is to just take a number, then go have lunch. My number came up pretty fast. As lots of folks just gave up and left.
You can mail the certified copy of the decree in. Include a SASE and it's been my experience, you'll get it back. Include a copy of your current driver's license and type or handwrite a letter asking for the return of your maiden name on a new card.
Interested in that answer myself
Im not sure why they are still closed. I just work in the building....not in their office though There is a number posted on the front doors to the building if that helps. I'm at work now n I can try to get you that number if you haven't already been by and seen it.
This is 100% what I am going through. If the office was open if they would get back to work we can all take the necessary precautions. My daughter just got her ssn card for gettingarried but she didn't get her documents back.
What do I needed for a social security card
Me nieghther
Yes they are open for in person, I would be there as soon as they open, they keep distance and only allow so many in the waiting room at a time. Bring a mask or they have disposable ones there but you have to put one on to go into the office.
It is pretty easy to get things started when you got the social security office the security guard will ask what you are there for and can assist you with the machine to get your ticket to be seen. The wait times are very love right now. They will give you a packet to fill out and if they have a person available you may even get your appointment that day.
Google has everything 😁
Yes. I think so.
You have to call the office to arrange an appointment before you go. Good news is they started taking phone calls at this location again starting last week so you should be able to reach someone.
Offices are closed and have been for months.
I've been in the same situation since lockdown started. At the beginning there were representatives to talk to, but now it seems like there are absolutely none, and getting a hold of one is impossible now. I've been calling the past few days. It's ridiculous that many parts of government administrations are open and some still closed. The last update they posted was the update of them stating that they are closing for the time, which was back in March...
You should have been given an SS number when you're born however when you get married you need to go to the courthouse after you've gotten married and legally change your name and then you go to the social security office and you present them with your birth certificate and your marriage certificate to have your name changed on your social security card
You mean the form that you receive by mail where shows all working days?
There is no fee for a new card.
9 am last time I was there. It has been a number of years though. The federal building annex opens at 730 am. Their website confirms 9 am m-f
Probably not. Depending on your transaction, you may also need your birth certificate.
Write the SSA at either the Anchorage or Fairbanks offices (both addresses are shown online if you type in Social Security, Anchorage or Social Security, Fairbanks) and ask for one! Supply them with copies of your current driver's license and a certified copy of your birth certificate. If you also supply them with a SASE they'll mail back that copy of your birth certificate usually. This is how you get things done in Alaska - and probably EVERYWHERE in the USA! We can still put pen to paper, use certified mail, with return receipt requested and you'll get what you need! I've set up direct deposit this way, put in a Change of Address this way and gotten a divorce, given them a certified copy of the decree and gotten a new card in my maiden name this way!
Have to pay to park if you want to be right across the street. However there is free parking a couple blocks away at the park.
Yes, according to Google maps, they will be open 9a.m.-4p.m.
yes
Good luck going to an office unless you have all day
I heard that they're closed through today... Regularly, on Wednesday, they're only open 9am to noon... The rest of the days are regular hours...
You fill out the form and give it to the staff at the front desk
Yup disability i believe but go ti tge ssa building and ask someone there for more infonthey will have answers for all questions oh if donald happens to be the worker for you tell him his wife sent you and loves him
Go to the dmv and get a new id. Stop posting stupid questions in a Google MAPS app.
Birth certificate, Vaccination record and adult ID.
20W
Work more quarters.
They are free.
1) Go to your closest Social Security office and there will be a way for you to check in and get a number card, and then you'll have to probably wait for a little bit because of whoever might be in front of you, and then you'll see someone and talk to them about getting your kid a social security card. You'll also have to bring a birth certificate or some form of ID for your kids. 2) Don't put it in there wallets, if they lose it and someone picks it up and gets it, they can steal their identity. So avoid doing that.
You go to their offices and take a number. The Wait is anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours.
Just go online
