I was able to drop off documents without an appointment by coming in on a Friday afternoon before the holiday weekend. Mr. McVey was competent and compassionate.

I have been trying to help my mother with her social security benefits, however due to our local office not open unless you have an appointment has made that difficult. I understand that the phone lines are busy, but to not be able to speak to someone to make an appointment has only made this an overly complicated process.
SOCHEAT MOM
We went there to apply for medicare for my mother, she's 76 year old. The security officer was really friendly and was very helpful. I thought, "great" there's only 2 people ahead of us. We finally could resolve this medicare issues today. Because we have tried the online and satellite offices approach with no success. I phone call approach won't work because we would get put on hold for hours. We got called up to the window after 5 minutes of waiting. The window lady was friendly. She told me my mom have to come back for an interview. I looked around and there was barely any customers around. Surely they are not busy. Then she told me that the earliest appointment is two months away. I was shocked. I expected one to two weeks at the most. My mom is old and I don't think she needs to jump threw loops to get health care.
