Very enjoyable however when it came time to leaving about 15 minutes before 6:00 p.m. which is the posted time they lock the gates, An elder gentleman in a wheelchair tried locking us in before 6:00 p.m.

Public boat launch. All the people I encountered were friendly. Good area to launch a small boat or kayak

The county has cleared away all the extra mud that was deposited by the hurricane you can Now Launcher boats. The county is also surveying it to rebuild it and repair the concrete. It's a good boat ramp to launch into calm water.

Absolutely. Although, it is a long trek and mostly No Wake zones.
As far as I know they still impound your vehicle if the gate is locked, take a 250$ chance if you want. However there is outside parking and I'm not sure how they treat that - it's on the "old man's" property..
