Great park. Clean picnic areas, bathroom, play area, and a nice trail that follows Paynes Creek around to the Peace River. Our Aussies and we really enjoy it. Remember to bring $3 to get in.

Nice quiet park to take in a stroll along Paynes Creek and the Peace River. Has nice pavilions for grilling and hanging out. Staff and volunteers were very informative and cheerful.

Park hours are from 8am to sundown. You can fish from the banks with the required documentation from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. More information at the link below https://myfwc.com/license/recreational/freshwater-fishing We are also known to the locals for catching snook in the Peace River which requires an additional saltwater license and a snook permit.
You cannot Fossil within the boundaries of the state park which ends at the banks of the Peace River which can be accessed from within the park. Paynes Creek is within the park boundary and cannot be fossiled. Per FL statute 62-d Nothing can be removed from a state park without being permitted through Florida rec and parks.
Its $3 a car load up to 8 people a car.
Yes you can. There are spots to put a canoe or kayak in and places to sit and swim in the creek.

No, it's not repaired yet. I was there last week and the park ranger said it would be a couple months still.
Also, very close to the park there is an awesome BBQ place. Can't remember the name but they will know at the park. Authentic, not chain.
