The staff is caring and does everything they can to keep pups happy and comfortable. Even though my dogs get their shots and other potentially uncomfortable procedures, my dogs are never afraid of coming here. The pricing is reasonable, but without the monthly care plan it can be more expensive than most other places. Banfield is great if you're 'bought into' their system of monthly plans and substantial discounts.

Love the staff and the drs are just as great. Dr Washington is my current favorite. They are all tremendous though. Never have they tried to push products on me as one reviewer said. Loving and warm to my pups. Very compassionate team. I’ve used them for years and the wellness plan is great for saving money. Highly recommend this facility. .

Took my 6 year old dog there today, and I cannot say enough about what a great experience I had. My dog was further behind on his vaccinations than I realized and is somewhat aggressive, so I was a little nervous going in. From Sam, who processed us upon arrival to my assisting vet tech, Danielle and the Veterinarian, Dr. Washington, I felt at ease and in good hands. My dog and I were treated with care and respect. Like I mentioned, he was behind schedule. Not once did I feel judged. They just wanted to help me get him up to speed and cared for. I will be taking him to this location from here on out. Fantastic service.

I would like to start by saying, the vets and vet techs I have encountered here are very kind and hard working. I think the brunt of the problem with this place and the lack of timliness is because they take too many appointments and don't have enough staff to fulfill them. The problem here, 100% is the receptionist Tracy. My first time here I made an appointment on a Tuesday for a Saturday appointment. On Friday afternoon, i get a call from Tracy saying that they don't take appointments at 12:30 so she has to reschedule me for almost 2 weeks down the road. I could not wait two weeks as I had a new puppy and had done a lot of research finding a place that had an appointment on a Saturday. I work long hours during the week and could only take him on a Saturday. She put me on hold for almost ten minutes and then comes back and says they can take me Saturday afternoon. No apology or even a your welcome when I thanked her. I go in the next morning, she had an attitude when I checked in. I assumed it was because she recognized that she had to have made an accomodation for me, but that is zero excuse. During my appointment, I had such a great experience with the vet and tech that i brushed it off because why should I let her bug me when she was just the receptionist? I go back again for our next appointment. 20 minutes before the appointment they call and say they need to reschedule due to an emergency surgery. Ok, I know emergencies arise but 20 minutes before is just so short. I don't know what their policy is but I believe due to travel time and such they should give an hour's heads up. And yes things happen, but then the policy should be changed so people are being notified too early as opposed to far too late, like 20 minutes beforehand. I would have gladly dealt with working out someone else to bring my puppy to a different Banfield or something if I had not already driven there from Vienna. (I realized after my first visit that their were banfields closer to me I could take my puppy to, but I loved the vets so much I wanted to keep going back). The vet tech i spoke with was very apologetic and said since I was there in the parking lot, they could quickly squeeze him in. I walk in, to be greeted by sour face Tracy, but the tech came over and said she would take him back and call when he was done. I was told it would happen within in the hour. I was pleasently surprised to get a call only 20 minutes later saying Rex was finished. When I went over to pick him up, Tracy goes back and comes out and said no one called me. I pulled out my phone to show her the message and she just looked at it with no explanation. Thankfully, a vet came out and said a mistake had been made and it wasn't me that they meant to call. I decided to just stay and wait at that point. So I sat and waited...and waited. I have a lot on my plate and waiting so long was not something I planned for. Had I been told the truth and not baited with he could be done in an hour then I would not have waited, I would have left. So I ask Tracy if he's had the shots and what not and she gave me an excuse, not an apology. And as I'm telling her that I'm upset because I'm busy and would appreciate an HONEST estimate on time SHE LAUGHED at me!! I was shocked...it made me feel small for a second, like I don't matter. And then I remembered she is a receptionist and the face of the Banfield Leesburg office and that is not acceptable behavior for any receptionist. Her job is to put a smile on, deal with customer issues and appointments and apologize for mistakes made by herself and others that she is working for. That is why she was hired as a receptionist. I will not be returning to this Banfield despite the amazing trained vets and vet techs, simply because of the receptionist. That's sad. I truly hope Banfield can find someone to represent them in the front that is worthy of the amazing animal care takers they have working there...she does Banfield a huge disservice.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?

Banfield Pet Hospital | Sep 8, 2020

Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
