Visiting Stowe, VT we had to go to the von Trapp Bierhall. Made a reservation as it was suggested and we were promptly seated in their outdoor dining area. Our waitress was.terrific. The beer was great. The food was prepared well...try the spaetzle!! A great experience, with great food and beer.

We've been here 2x. It's a 3 because the first trip was so great that we brought visiting family back for a second trip. The food on this round was borderline awful. The service was, to put it mildly, a strong reminder that some people *absolutely* should not be responsible for front of house service. Peter was our server and I could write several paragraphs on all of his failures on this Tuesday afternoon service but it would be a waste of everyone's time. If we drove back and Peter was the only server, I would drive the hour back home without food instead of eating at this establishment. I hope this experience is mine and mine alone because the food can be good, the facility is gorgeous, and the beer is amongst the best in the state.

Very nice time at the Bierhall. They close early so work that I to your plans. Food was good. Beer was very good. Great outdoor space.

Nice spot! Hubby and I came here for a quick lunch. He ordered the burger and I ordered a chicken salad. We also enjoyed their cheese platter and with the cheesy dipping sauce. Great weather, polite and courteous staff, and good food! We wanted to have a beer but we were super full from the lunch maybe next time. Better than the slightly outdated lodge itself.

Yes, they have a gift shopping area as you enter the von Trapp Brewery & Bierhall restaurant and the have their mustard, jam/ jelly canned drinks & maple syrup. They also have T-shirts, sweatshirts beer steins and other trinkets for memorable moments at this spot.
There is a free viewing area up the stairs to the left as you walk in the front door to the restaurant and gift shop. For a tour ask at the hostess stand.
