I was visiting my parents in Florida and decided to check this place out. It was absolutely amazing. The staff is very knowledgeable and are super welcoming people. Their selection is unlike anything I’ve ever seen and their prices were very reasonable. No matter if you are a pro or just starting out, this is the place to go. I will be stopping by this store every time I’m in the area and suggest you do as well.

My fiancé, Scott, has mentioned the desire to play this sport before, but we never acted upon it until Thursday this past week. We watched a few YouTube videos about disc golf for beginners, then turned to Facebook Marketplace for supplies. We found the prices on the heavier side for used necessities and proceeded to search on Google for local stores selling the equipment needed to play the sport. That’s when we discovered Local Route in Clearwater, Florida. The drive was about thirty minutes in midday traffic from where we reside, and we’re so glad we made the drive. Upon entering the store, we were greeted immediately. We took to the isles ourselves, having no idea what to look for, and then approached the counter to seek a beginner’s set. That’s when we met Trevor. He inquired about our age, noting any age-related physiological changes. He asked about any medical issues we had, which may therefore affect our ability to play. He also implored our history of any sport-related activity, determining our endurance level, or lack thereof rather. After learning the basics and getting to know each other, Trevor distinctively chose our discs for us, explaining that the weight of the disc would have a large impact on my ability to play. He then created a particular set for Scott as well. Trevor explained the actions of the discs we were assigned and urged us to take a photograph of the discs laid out on the ground to simply refer to as we began to play and understand the aerodynamics and science behind disc golfing. Towards the end of the transaction, Trevor even told us about local disc golf courses in our area, so we were all set to be able to play. I felt like the amount of time, care, and attention we received absolutely sold us as life-long customers of Local Route. As new and intimidated players, it really made all the difference. Thank you for being so kind and supportive to newcomers of the sport. In fact, Scott and I played our first round of disc golf, although only completing half the course. We sincerely had so much fun and cannot wait until the next time we are able to play! Thank you, Local Route, and especially, Trevor.

This Pro Shop is incredible, a must-visit for any avid disc golfer, new or seasoned! We stopped in twice while disc golf vacationing in the area to consult with their very knowledgeable and friendly staff and purchase some great discs and bags. Their prices are right in line with on-line retailers. Jeff was particularly intent on making my experience unforgettable with his knowledge and enthusiasm and another staff member helped me purchase my new Prodigy backpack! We will patronize this shop every time we are in the area and you should do the same!
