Amazing hiking available for all skill levels. Clearly marked paths, water stations throughout and great wildlife. Bird watching, Gator spotting and tortoises galore. They have a nature center with different kinds of falcons, owls and a Bald Eagle. Inside there is a unique Bunny named Honey who is the largest bunny breeds and is 12lbs of fluff.

Very beautiful park. Not too many people when i went this morning (saturday). Lots and lots of trails, well maintained, some people who are helpful in talking about some of the alligators you can see on some of the boardwalks. The $3 entry fee for 1 adult ($1.5 for kids) is well worth. Free parking with a playground if you dont want to use the trails.

Beautiful place, we never thought it was so big. Is peaceful, perfect for a date, good for kids, great to have a perfect walk with all the family. The staff is really helpful and welcoming. We got there around 3 o'clock and we didn't ever notice that 3 hours pass by. Amazing time. Definitely we will come back.

Plenty to see at Boyd Hill. The nature center is quite nice and full of educational displays and living creatures. The extensive nature trails are accessible through the nature center and there is a fee of $3 for adults and $1.50 per children 3 - 16. There is plenty to see on the trails and to hike most of the loops could easily take 2 hours at a leisurely pace.

There's dirt trails and a boardwalk which I believe is designated for walking. Although there's a large parking lot and I think they do allow biking on the property.
It is $3 person. Or $5 pp if you want to ride on the golf cart tour
They have a few rescued raptors in holding areas right outside of the visitor's center. Not sure of the status of every bird currently (waiting to be released or non releasable) but you can always ask any of the staff for that info. The rest of the park is nature trails where you can see a lot of wildlife.
Yeah
There is no fishing on preserve grounds, there is a separate park with dock just north of the park on 9th St South.
? On website? Or call them.
The chickens are kept there to monitor for mosquito-borne diseases like West Nile virus.
I think you could get there with a walker. People bike on the main trails and the tram goes on the main trails so I think you could. There's only one boardwalk open now, the first one. On the middle one you can only go on the bridge; the boardwalk is closed at that point. If getting around is difficult look into taking a tram tour.
Not sure but it used to be a zoo and was named after a park superintendent at some point.
No, the gates are closed
I have never seen them on the trails. You see them frequently in the water or sunning themselves on the banks.
You can also explore the trails at your own pace. You can almost always see alligators along the boardwalk. And the bird exhibit is worth mentioning too.
Yes, they do allow bikes on the trails. We live nearby and have a membership pass so we often go and bring the kids to ride.

I would contact the St Petersburg Audubon chapter.
A tricky question....so many variables such as walking speed & desired activities like bird watching, trail excursions, flora/fauna exploring, birds of prey feeding just to name a few; all of these things will take a different amount of time for everyone. You can spend all day, a couple of days, or just a couple hours and have a fun time here; as long as you enjoy nature, any time at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve is exciting!
They have small species of owls and other smaller birds of prey in large cages that are viewable by park visitors. I took pictures of the birds while they were in the cages. Visitors are not allowed in the cages.
Yes, the majority, if not all of the trails are. I would recommend making sure you have plenty of water as the west side of the preserve lacks much shade.
YOU SHOULD CALL THEM FOR THE INFO
