CCU customer support or lack there of, cannot explain my water bill. The owners. JNG Management LLC. Duplexes in Deep Creek, did not fill out the paperwork so each individual duplex tenant DOES NOT RECEIVE WATER BILLS. On the account number I received from CCU department, once a month has a charge that ranges from $1200-1500, on my said account. I have spoken several times to one of their customer supports, and NO satisfactory answer. Also, last month my water bill increased from our usual 4000 gallons to 7000 gallons???? Very questionable. Do yourself a favor educate yourself and check your water meter daily.

I wanted commend the Charlotte County Utilities Department emergency response center. On a holiday my home sewage emergency pump light and siren activated. After calling in to emergency I was contacted back after leaving message. Steve the technician arrived troubleshoot sewage pump pump problem and repaired quickly by replacing sewage pump. Steve was professional and expert in his performance. Thank you and appreciate your assistance and outstanding response. Job well done! James

Customer service is awful--long hold times, rude customer service reps. There was damage to our water line due to something the water company did when they hooked up the meter--resulting in a very expensive leak plus a repair bill. We (homeowners) had to pay for the repair and the resulting overages. I believe they are offering some sort of "discount" but the overage is still quite expensive. Additionally, the leak had been going on for days before we received a letter noting a constant flow of water coming from our house. Factor in the crazy price increases over the last few years (for which I have seen no improvement in services) and exorbitant water bills if you're connected to sewer--this is really a ripoff. But as CCU is the only game in town ...

Charlotte County Utilities has horrible service at an expensive rate, the most expensive rate in the state - even more expensive than the national average despite living in an area with no shortage of fresh water. If you use no water what-so-ever your bill will be $63. There is no way to disconnect service, you get billed every month no matter what. Not only that but the bill is permanently tied to the property owner so if a renter doesn't pay it falls on the property owner. If the renter tampers with the gauge or turns the water back on without permission it's on the property owner. There's almost no grace period for missed bills, they mail you a late notice and have 10 days from when they mailed it before they shut you off with a $45 reconnect fee. This fee used to be waved once per year but no longer is. If you're water is shut off it might not be turned back on that day and if you turn the knob on yourself, even if you're paid up, you'll get a tampering fee. Making payments could not be more cumbersome or expensive. For online payments and over the phone payments there is a $4 'convenience fee'. "It's ok, I'll just mail a check" you think but they stopped including a return envelope with the bill years ago citing "budget constraints". Have fun writing out their address 12 times a year because they cant include a 4 cent envelope with the $109 bill. If you like cumbersome, pain in the rear government then Charlotte County is ready to serve your water needs.
