As an earlier reviewer posted, the place reeks of urine, staff are overworked and underpaid. My mother is there, and unfortunately I have no other option but to keep her there. Four General Managers have come and gone since the place opened in April 2018. Who is providing leadership for this facility? No one. Were the state to be called in to check out Tessera, I don't doubt that it would be closed down.

My father was there for almost two years. The staff were always polite and professional in all my interactions. The facility is well kept, clean, and inviting. After my mom passed my dad refused to move closer to me in SC, as he enjoyed the facility and staff that much.

I would not recommend placing a loved one in this facility. I moved my father into memory care in March of 2019 because l fell in love with the staff and the facility as soon as I toured it. I then took a couple of our family members to get their opinion and they loved the place so my decision was made. That this was going to be my Dad's new home. For the first few months things were great and then they changed the general manager and it has gotten progressively worse since. Me and my dad felt like this place was home. We love the staff and the the residents and their families. It feels like we are all a big family. But for paying almost $6,000 a month I don't believe it is worth the money. All of the staff are so caring but always changing which is not good for memory care residents. They need consistency. They are always understaffed and I'm sure they do not pay them enough for all that they do. They have made promises saying that they are working on making things better but there is no follow through and things have only gotten worse. The communication there between the facility and the families are almost non existence. If not for the awesome concierges and other family members telling me about the changes after the fact I would know nothing. I work full time and go visit my dad 5 days a week. I go there after work around 7:00 pm and park at the east side memory care entrance. I try to only stay an hour so that I can leave before the concierge leaves so that I can get out to my car without having to walk all the way up front and try to find someone to let me out through the front door. I have had back surgery and both hips replaced and it can sometimes be a struggle for me to walk that far. So the last straw for me was when I pulled up around 7:00 pm after working all day I get out of my car and as I am walking up to the door I look into the window and one of the other family members waves for me to go around to the front door. And when I get there the concierge told me that they were converting the memory care entrance to the sales office. Which I believe that they should have notified the families of the change before implementing it. I can not tell you how mad I am and how I think that this is one of the worst decisions this place has ever made. Most of the residents here not only have memory loss they also have physical disabilities to. So now they want us to have to walk or push them across the parking lot because you can't drop them off at the door by themselves and then through the lobby then the dinning room, then a hallway and 2 doors, then across the memory care lobby and dinning room and then down the long hall to the rooms??? Which my dad complaines about just having to walk to the dining room every day because it hurts his legs. Not only is it totally inconvenient for the residents it's totally inconvenient for the families. Especially when you are taking them groceries, clothes or having to move any furniture in or out. That is not done by Tessera staff it is all done by the families. With that decision it has made me to have to make the decision to move my dad which brakes my heart to take him out of his home again... We love all of the staff who have been taking care of my dad and we will miss them.. That is not good business general manager...

Which side? They have two. One side is for assisted living and the other is long term memory care. I have a family member in memory care. It's about $5000.
