With many asian stores opening in the Bay in general, you don't need to go to Japan Town to get japanese related items anymore. So takoyaki, udon, and a lot of these things aren't special anymore. Most of the stalls there are now craft stores (like corgi clothing), or sponsors (like a bidet). The food stalls were "nonprofit", but honestly, I got this fried mochi, and strongly regretted it... very plainly rice flavored fried chewy dough. Otherwise, most of the other choices aren't any special, so I skipped on those. And I think the biggest reason is, it's wayyyy too crowded. I ended up walking half a mile to the Sunday street market and ate lots of Thai food there for Thai new year, and that had a lot better food.

Close to a month before the festival. Inside the store mall info flyer tables you will find the early program of the 2 weekends of the festival with the Master Festival schedule printed along with a separate insert of a separate paper of it included into the free program.
