I would personally wouldn't go out of my way to come here. While it's called inspiration point, it left little to inspire me towards and is a pretty bland outcropping of land. The trails surrounding this area are fantastic however and others like Eagle Rock offer much more. If you're hiking along the area it might be worth checking out but not for a trip in itself.

Lovely, amazing hiking trails just in bay area backyards. A hidden gem. Amazing, lovely well maintained San Jose city park. Woody shaded trails, many of them.

Dogs are NOT allowed anywhere in Alum Rock Park. That includes Inspiration Point, Eagle Rock, and all other points in the park.
No. Inspiration point is a public place. Anyone can hike to it.
