Staff and management are pleasant and helpful. The store isn't as well-stocked as I expected and --in my opinion-- prices are on the high side. I'm quite pleased with my groomer at Livermore, but watch out for creeping grooming prices, not to mention that Petco now charges $3 for "materials." Petco's rewards program used to reduce costs, but the rewards now expire after only 6 weeks (rewards used to be good for many months). I purchased Petco's VitalCare plan because Petco's website claims the Livermore store has an active clinic (as of March '22). Several months later, I discovered that the Livermore clinic is neither equipped nor staffed. The closest active clinic is a 50-mile round-trip to Walnut Creek. Disappointed (to say the least), I cancelled my VitalCare membership. APRIL 2022: Over time as a Petco customer, I have had to reduce my original 5-star rating to 3 stars and now to 1 star because Livermore Petco arbitrarily raised the $50 grooming price they quote when I make an appointment on their website, to $72. $50 is their regular price (what they used to charge me) for my 21-lb. wirehaired Jack Russell mix. When I asked about the disparity in price, the person in charge of the store was both unusually ill-humored and couldn't provide a reasonable explanation.

This store is amazing I have not ever seen I've ever seen anyone not take time with my 7 and 8 year old grandchildren and explain every question they have had they have a cat a dog a Guinea pig a microhamster and a mouse and these kids take care of their animals especially well thank you Petco for being there and for my grandkids thank you

My puppy had a grooming appointment with Serafina. She's excellent, highly recommended. Tobias always leave happy and looking nice. ***Visit October 23, I also want to say all staffs at the store are friendly and helpful. Neema is very helpful she's one of the cashier always there with a big smile. Laura was very helpful giving me tips how to deal with Tobias still a puppy.

We went in for a new harness for a small dog. We've been having trouble finding out that fits well. We had tried one on and still not quite satisfied but then a very nice young lady came by and made a suggestion for a different style. She helped me try it on Ollie and it was a much better fit. That's the kind of service that gets me in store shopping instead of trying another online order.

You have to wear a mask & keep distance while in line. They sanitize the cashier stations between customers too.
