Perfect space for getting work done. Public wifi, huge library of legal resources, and book scanners. The library also offers access to CEB OnLaw and HeinOnline over wifi.

This is a research library, for research related to the State of California. They also house many books, maps and artifacts related to California's history as well as a few truly special museum pieces including John Bidwells maps and books and a complete folio of Audubon's birds!

They had a letter from my Great great grandfather's business in their historical collections!

You need to be a State employee, a member of the legislature, work for UC/CSU or the State Court, or be an appointed State official/board member to get a library card. However, anyone can borrow State Library materials through your local public library as an interlibrary loan. The State Library buildings in Sacramento are open for use by the public and offer free WiFi in all reading rooms. Members of the public can also get an internet pass to use with public PCs on the third floor of the 914 Capitol building.
