I would really like to commend YS Attic Insulation Ventura County for the work on our attic. I'm not sure what prompted us to call them in the first place, but they have done a great job cleaning up and adding insulation. Their service was outstanding and I will definitely be using them again for the Sanitation and attic repair we need. They are a great company!!

Ruben is amazing. He's very thorough and will go above and beyond to fix any problems you may have. I was very impressed with his attention to detail and ability to make sure he did everything possible to ensure my attic was properly insulated. He took his time, answered all my questions, and did not leave until my concerns were alleviated. His prices are very reasonable and competitively priced with the other companies around town.

He worked with us to get the job done quickly, even though it was late in the day. The workers came on time and got the job done quickly and professionally. They cleaned up the mess before they left. Before 1990 some versions of fiberglass insulation contained asbestos but since then it has been phased out.The best insulation options for an attic are open cell spray foam, fiberglass, and cellulose. Cellulose is the oldest insulation material used for not only the attic, but other areas of the home as well. Roof leaks can be a source of mold growth in your attic, especially if the insulation in your attic isn't mold-resistant. It is important to have a professional inspection of your attic helps you decide what material is the safest for your attic insulation.
Insulation installed in your attic and walls will dramatically reduce the amount of heat that infiltrates your home and your house will stay cooler longer into the day and the air conditioning will have to be on less often. When we insulate residences during hot summer days, our customers often notice an very big difference and they frequently describe the feeling as a huge relief!
With certain types of insulation materials, installing your own insulation is definitely doable—But it takes many risks and finally this could be unsafe foy you and your house. Installing fiberglass or mineral wool insulation are not a simple DIY projects also other insulation types, such as spray foam insulation, require the use of a trained professional.
Our Air duct cleaners attach the vacuum system to the ductwork to collect the debris as it is loosened and removed by the cleaning process. The technicians then use manual or power brushes to remove the debris from the inside walls of the ductwork.
In a 1,500-square-foot attic it could take 6 to 15 hours to remove the cellulose with the proper equipment. It's going to be an extremely long and dirty process that our experts can control and deal with for the safe of your place.
Attic insulation is a thermally resistant barrier and the way it works is that it restrains the migration of thermic energy into and out of the residence. In a couple of words: insulation blocks heat from entering the home in the summer and holds heat in during the winter. Keeping your house temperature to a more affordable cost and comfort.
Insulating an attic could take a couple of hours or one to two days. This depends on how much old insulation in the attics must be removed. Our clients are often surprised on how fast we take care of their insulation, our priority is having it done quickly so that our customers can start enjoying their home temperature as soon as possible.
How much money you will save depends on many things, not the least being the home members habits. It also depends on the kind of house you own, how tight and sealed the windows and doors are, and what kind of heating system you have. In general, estimates are that once you insulate your attic you will save between 30 and 50 percent.
Yes, air duct systems have been shown to act as a collection source for very small particles of dust that can be harmful for your health. The removal of such contaminants from the air duct system and home should be considered as one component in an overall plan to improve indoor air quality.
It deppends on the material that will be used for the insulation. The non-flammable nature of cellulose insulation offers a degree of fire protection to the home. The insulation becomes a “hard-target” that the fire has to burn around, thus slowing the spread of fire by 57%. In testingwell-insulatedated home remained structurally intact and standing significantly longer than a non-insulated or fiberglass insulated home. Can attic insulation get mold?
The foam insulation products we use are Class One Fire Rated. This means if the worst were to happen and there was a fire in your home, the foam insulation doesn’t act as a catalyst. Once the flame is removed from the foam it will self-extinguish.
Interior wall insulation can save on home utility costs, especially if the house has rooms that are not in use year-round. Three-season rooms, unused guest rooms or even storage rooms are expensive to heat and cool. Interior wall insulation will reduce heat transfer.
As hidden as insulation is behind the walls, up in the attic and beneath the floorboards, its benefits aren't as veiled! You probably know by now that the best level of insulation can lessen energy bills and improve comfort all year round. The keywords here are “right amount.” If your house is not properly insulated, you'll have a much harder time-saving money and staying comfortable. A residence will surely be under-insulated (millions of homes through the United States have this very problem), but will it have a lot of insulation? In a nutshell, yes it can! Homes need insulation, and more is generally a great thing. But there might be a theoretical point of “too much.” If your home is over-insulated and is too tightly sealed, moisture could possibly get trapped inside. Without proper ventilation, a property can develop a lot of moisture, especially in the attic (warm air rises), which can cause mold problems and, overall, lower indoor air quality. This is the reason we don't recommend DIY projects—professional jobs help ensure materials are installed correctly and safely and the best level of insulation for maximum energy savings and comfort.
Yes, both our injection foam and spray foam insulation are safe to have in every area of your home. You have to take what you read on the Internet or hear second opinion, problems with spray foam insulation that may have been true 20 years ago just isn’t the case today.
It could be a good idea to get rid of old fiberglass insulation before adding cellulose insulation as it provides a cleaner environment for you and your family. In most cases, it's beneficial to get rid of all the old insulation, because it could harbor potentially dangerous mildew or rodent excrement. Cellulose insulation is made almost entirely from recycled paper, such as newspapers and paper sacks. The recycled product is then treated to help keep it from molding. Additionally, it is designed to repel insects and fire. Murray says fiberglass will mold, which is why cellulose is a superb alternative. Cellulose insulation also does a better job of trapping air, rendering it a more efficient insulation material.
Insulation comes in a couple of different shapes and sizes. Insulation may be blown in as a loose-filled product, it may be put into the wall or attic using “batts” or prefabricated strips or rolls of insulation, it may be attached using several types of fasteners as a ridged board or panel, and it may be sprayed using a wet spray or paint/foam base chemical. Various kinds of material include fiberglass, cellulose, rock-wool, denim, rolled fiberglass batts, spray foam, vermiculite, and added rare types that aren't used much. Insulation has changed a whole lot over time, excluding harmful materials like formaldehyde and asbestos, and becoming more air quality conscious and friendly for the environment.
Air duct cleaning is the cleaning of various heating and cooling system components of forced air systems, this includes the supply and return air ducts and registers, heat exchangers heating and cooling coils, grilles and diffusers, condensate drain pans (drip pans), fan motor and fan housing, and the air handling unit housing. The result is a complete removal of dust and contaminants within the ductwork.
Unlike rat control and mouse control methods designed to get rid of rodents that have infested your structure, rodent exclusion / rodent proofing is all about keeping them from entering in the first place.
Insulation also serves to reduce outside sound from entering your home. Customers near airfields, or highly transited streets often report dramatically less sound infiltrating and most people describe the home as having a more solid feeling to it. So having your attic insulated can also help you reduce noises that might commonly interrupt your daily activities without you even noticing and it can make a huge difference with your living experience
Batts, Cellulose Blown-In or Spray Foam, this are the 3 ways to insulate an attic but to ensure the one the perfect one for yours, we have to check the attic’s condition,if it has water damage, the presence of vermin and noticeable air leakage.Damaged, wet, or mouldy insulation will need to be removed and any air leakage sites sealed up before placing new insulation. If you put an air-permeable insulation material over a hole in your ceiling, you may have comfort, indoor air quality, durability, and efficiency problems.
This will depend on the kind of material that was installed. While some insulation is built to last years, there are times when you need to replace your insulation or add on more insulation to it, also if you had a roof leak it is also important to have your insulation inspected to make sure there is no signs of mold growth. Foam insulation can settle after a year and may need to be replaced to keep it fluffy and insulating properly.
If you do not enjoy the current temperature that you have during hot summers or cold winters and you feel like your light bills are really high or the need to have your HVAC system on most of the time, then it might be a clear sign of having your attic insulated to prevent all of the previous events.
