I got estimates from a couple of HVAC companies and I purposely chose companies that qualify for the SMUD rebate for an HVAC system. Their pricing was very similar to another estimate, but it included a more efficient system and qualified for the rebate. Nic at CABS was super helpful with a detailed estimate and the process with financing. CABS offers financing with Travis Credit Union; they had a very clear process to apply, and were always available to help. I basically got my estimate, made a decision the next day, and they were are my house 2 days later installing the new unit. Kevin and Danny were at my house in hundred degrees heat installing my unit. They were very communicative on the process. I also really appreciated everyone wearing shoe covers when they entered my house and they regularly watched out for my cat to make sure she didn't get outside. There was a small complication with my unit and Kevin came back to my house extra hours to make sure I had AC in the heat. They also brought us some portable AC units in between the removal and install.

CABS deserves your business. I'm always a bit skeptical about salesmen as I tend to feel pressured to decide immediately, but Nic was very patient with me and took time to go through the pros and cons of different options and taught me a lot about AC units. After getting quotes from a couple of other sources, the prices ended up being comparable (and a bit cheaper with city rebates) than competitors, even with a better, more efficient unit (a multi-stage Daikin). Leading up to the install there were a few reschedules that needed to be made due to miscommunications from Daikin, the manufacturer of the unit we purchased. CABS was communicative and helpful throughout this process, going so far as to get us some perks from Daikin for the inconvenience. For install we dealt mostly with Daniil, who was also polite and communicative. The whole crew was very tidy and respectful of our space. The install ended up being tricky and taking longer than expected, since the inside and outside units were not communicating (issues with the unit, not the installation). Daniil and the rest of the team worked tirelessly to get it resolved and even provided us with temporary AC units to make sure we were comfortable until the unit was functional. Now the unit is installed and its whisper quiet (we thought it was broken). All in all, if you're on the fence, come on down from there and have CABS fix ya up.

After receiving several text that Michael was on his way he arrived on time. He was detailed in checking and in cleaning the compressor. He advised me in how to keep it clean with a water as not to damage the compressor’s coils. He address all of my concerns and was extremely attentive to make sure he did not dirty the areas inside the house where he needed access. Warranty terms and conditions can vary by manufacturer and even the original company that installed the unit. No. A larger system with more capacity delivers less comfort and costs more to operate. An air conditioner is at its least efficient when first turning on. A system with too much capacity will run in numerous short cycles, turning on and off repeatedly, therefore causing it to be less efficient. Also keep in mind that an air conditioner only removes humidity when it’s running, so a system with shorter run cycles doesn’t remove humidity from the air very well.
