What a joke this “mental” hospital is. I called 3 hours ago BAWLING my eyes out crying for them to help me because I didn’t know what else to do. I cut myself badly yesterday and been crying all night contemplating suicide. When I talked to them on the phone this morning they seemed like robots with no emotion talking to me. They told me to just head over and that’s what I did. I came to the front door and the phone you dial on to reach the operator wasn’t working so I used my phone. The gal told me to go by the ambulance entrance so I did. I went and pressed the bell and told the guy I really needed help, and I continued to SOB, he told me someone would be right there. 30 minutes i waited outside the door, bawling my eyes out in 100° weather hoping they would come help me. Nobody came, guess Heritage Oaks takes it time trying to “help” mental health issues. Luckily I have a good support system and my mom will be taking me somewhere else

I recently was at Heritage Oaks hospital. I was assigned to Dr.Kilwant Singh. He is very nice man. When Told him that I was going to the Federal Court to seek my release from the hospital, he told me that if I did that he no longer will be my doctor. I won the case .Dr. Loyd Benjamin is now my doctor.

I'm back with another review! After my initial discharge, the facility did not provide the papers to my insurance and I had to call my insurance to let them know that I was gone and out of the program. I also had to let my insurance know that the facility had sent me a letter that did not tell me the full amount that I needed to pay for. This place had sent me a letter saying if I responded to it, I could get 30% off of what I owed to them. I tried to pay online only to not be given a Statement ID, forcing me to call them. The receptionist may not have been notified of the 30% off, and asked me who had sent the letter and who had signed it, but I was only given "Patient Outreach" and had to pay the first charge over the phone. They then told me the other payments after I attempted to verify that I had closed my account out, and wasn't given a payment plan option. They simply asked if I wanted to pay all of it upfront and close the account. I'm beyond mad because when places do this, they tend to want to go straight to collections and get more money. This place needs to be checked by insurances. They don't send out the proper paperwork, don't tell you the amount you owe upfront, and often times the mental health workers don't talk to the receptionists so information given is often questioned. Don't come here. Go to literally anywhere else.

Do NOT bring a loved one to this facility under ANY circumstances. There is no communication, there is no compassion for the patient, and most of the staff including nurses and social workers are unfriendly and inconsiderate. This is not an acceptable facility for ANYONE to recover from a mental heath incident, they will only make the situation worse. This is essentially a detention facility, with all of the warmth and caring you'd expect from the prison system.

You have to keep calling them and badgering them to release the records. They discharged me and have yet to give me my discharge papers for insurance reasons.
They put things like car keys and other items that cannot be with you in a cubby in the front with someone there to guard / lock the door. It's not very well protected and often put into plastic bags rather than safe / lockers.
yes, they treat dual diagnosis
pretty sure they do but only for cirtain age groups
All of the drugs
You can admit yourself
Each unit has it's own patient phone number. The receptionist can help you with that. First talk to the patient to give you consent to enquire about her ongoing treatment. You have to have the patient code as well; & as for the psychiatrist contacting you, that's at the Dr 's discretion. The request will be made by the nursing staff
basically, i was there for a week and we all got to go outside once for 30 minutes. other than that it was pacing a hallway, going to your room, or sitting in the common area with nothing to do.
From what i can remember is 1:00 to 3:00 pm..i think.
Um i cant remember but another mental facility that i went to...they would take your blood...which they had a hard time finding..cuz they couldn't find my veins, lol. This one, i dont think they do blood test or shots or whatever its called? I cant remember fully.
Do not check yourself into this facility! Here is a fact nobody will tell you. Once you check in, they decide when you can check out. And I'll bet that if I could audit their book I would find the better your health insurance, the longer your stay
