Stop at 1pm to look at a dog on web site.Said need appointment..No where on web site or answer machine does it say you need an appointment...Just tell hours open.. I know you don't care but you will get more animal's adopted if people can just stop in and see them...

Don't bring animals here to surrender. They will lie to you about who the animal ends up being adopted by if you ask just to make sure the animal is in a safe home. It also turns out if you work here, you get first dibs to adopt an animal if wanted, which seemed to be the case for my fathers cat. But if you are a customer you have to go through the application and get randomly chosen weather you are the best animal owner or not based on assumption and not the application itself. I've applied throughout the years and I never hear anything back on weather I was accepted or not (more of ignoring and act like you don't exist). Bad impressions/experiences definitely needs to be improved. How is a place like this able to get away with treating animals and customers very poorly. #shutdownccspca #boycottccspca

We recently lost our beloved dog of 13 years. I stopped by last month to drop off his unused food and treats and I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and compassion of the workers. Mind you, my paradigm was what this place was 10+ years ago. It is so much more welcoming than it ever used to be! They asked to see pictures of my dog and were very genuine in their concern for us. This is the kind of place I can support! Fast forward and we decided to adopt a kitten. He’s healthy, neutered, all vaccines and meds are up-to-date and their adoption fee was reasonable. They do excellent work and I’m thankful to have such a caring organization in my community. Thank you!

We currently have only two dachshunds and a puppy available for adoption at this time.
They had allot the last time I knew
0 minutes.
Prices vary depending on breed, age and temperament, usually starting at $175 and up.
We are a "no kill" shelter, but of course we do euthanize for extreme health issues and aggression.
We do not knowingly adopt out dogs with heartworm. We do spay/neuter prior to adoption if the adopter is within Cortland County.
Its cost but they do take in animals... I think it cost no matter where you go now.
I never had this issue--even outside of business hours, they return urgent calls.
Yes and it depends call and they will set up a time and tell you what u will need
Call the shelter between noon & 4pm today. Speak w/ some1 in the office & they'll be able to better assist u w/ an exact answer. If u can't call today, u can call anytime between noon-5 Tues - Fri, when they're open. If for any reason, they're unable to take it, try the local pet stores. Idk that they would take it, but it might be worth a try. Also, just a "fun fact", if u happen to re-home it, & the person lives in the city of Cortland, they'll need to obtain an exotic pet permit thru the city, via the city clerks office. Good luck!!! I rrally hope u can find a good place for it to go!!
We will/do ask for a fee. HOWEVER, u definitely need to speak w/ some1 in the office 1st. Just give them a call during their business hours (Tues - Fri, noon-5pm, & Sat noon - 4pm). They'll be able to better assist u w/ answering your question w/ an exact $ amount. This all assuming, of course, u haven't figured something out by now, lol. I see u posted your question a few weeks ago. Kristen is TOTALLY corect when she said "it's not even the true cost". The $25 she was asked to pay (assuming it was her), barely puts a dent in the actual cost of what it takes to care for these furry little loves. BUT...we're ALL VERY VERY grateful for it, none-the-less!!! Something is better than nothing tho, right?! Thank you!!!
You would definitely have to call the office, during our office hours (Tues - Fri, noon til 5 & Sat, noon til 4. Except on the Sat of Spay & Neuter clinic) to talk w/ someone about specifics. We have 1 Spay & Neuter clinic a month & the Saterday varies. It's also necessary to fill out an application, prior. They contact you w/ the date, time, etc. afree reviewing your app.
