If you look at the reviews carefully the favorable ones are from 2 years ago. As a mental health professional I am acutely aware COVID has taken a heavy toll on everyone.but in health care environment and as a medical provider that's when patients need you to put your personal problems at home and act professionally and in an empathetic manner. I am surprised Dr. Krieger told you to take down the review. That is highly unethical and borderline a violation of DOH practices and policies. Dr. Bianca Alonso yelled at my Mom.and me on 2 separate occasions so if she was having bad days, she should've sought a mental health provider. This is when patients need you most and you are treating them in an ill be bedside manner. I have my doubts on whether to report you or not as I have acquaintance s in A.H.C.C.A as well.

I had a very unpleasant experience with the staff this morning. My appointment was at 11AM. Upon filling out the forms sent via text and logging in 10 minutes late my appointment was cancelled. I was told it was because the office forms were not filled out early enough and because I did not answer calls from the office earlier this morning. I explained that I was at work and am not able to check my phone throughout the morning. I also stated that it is unprofessional to call 3 hours before a *virtual* appointment to confirm and/or request documents be filled out. I also explained that I had waited a month to get an appointment, have already done the blood work and asked if the doctor could at least review my chart/blood work. After all of this I was given an appointment for next month. My Dr. (Lara Paraskos) is amazing but the staff could definitely use some help in regards to their policies and procedures. It's a very hypocritical policy being that you are never seen at your exact appointment time and an extremely last minute confirmation system they are using. For patients who like myself, who work and are not readily available at the convenience of the office, virtual appointments may not be ideal.

1st Visit: I had my 1st visit with Dr. Krieger in April where I told her about all my issues. She was not at all empathetic towards me and was also laughing at some of the issues I was discussing. With symptoms I had she diagnosed me with PCOS and told me that you eat a lot. She ordered some blood tests and asked me to see a nutritionist. Overall, my experience was not good as I was doing everything for my body including exercise and diet to lose my weight. Before my second follow up with Dr. Krieger, I went to my gynecologist Dr. Casanova to see if I really had PCOS and it turned out Dr. Krieger did not order all tests to diagnose PCOS and did not even do my ultrasound. My gynecologist said you do not have PCOS and sent my reports to Dr. Krieger. So basically Dr. Krieger misdiagnosed me. She should have not said that I have PCOS instead should have done all the necessary tests before claiming I had PCOS. 2nd visit: In my second visit Dr. Krieger seemed to be a little more courteous and calm. She ruled out PCOS based on the reports sent by my gynecologist. She discussed the possible medications and ordered some new labs again. Since I was unhappy with my 1st visit she discussed with me why I gave her 1 star and she told me it would have been good if I would have directly told her that I was unhappy. I was glad that she had the courtesy to discuss it. And I told her I will update the review soon. It was overall a better visit than my prior visit. 3rd visit: The first thing Dr. Krieger discussed after saying how you are is that I see that you have not changed your review. I told her I will do it when I want to. To my surprise she said you don't need to update it, you can remove it completely. I was very unhappy. It seemed she was more worried about her review and less worried about the condition. Following that she discussed some options about the medications and how we should be moving ahead on that. The visit was okay and I do not plan to see the doctor again based on my experience. Physicians need to understand that people do not like to come to doctors. However, when they come they come there for a reason which means the patient needs guidance and treatment.

If you are looking for a doctor's office that you can experience personalized attention and talk with a live person, this is not the doctor's office for you. I have been trying to get my thyroid medication refilled and I have a full thyroidectomy so it is important that I have my medicine but I have not been able to. The first time, my pharmacy advised that the refill request was declined but I have received no phone call or explanation from the doctor's office to why. I have called and left message but no returned call. As of today, I will no longer have this doctor's office as my endocrinology office.

Questions & Answers

does she take Avmed and does she do biopsy?

Patricia Echeverri | Sep 6, 2021
Lara Paraskos | Sep 6, 2021

Yes, all the doctors in our office take Avmed. We do thyroid biopsy in the office, it is a painless procedure that can be done safely at the bedside!

If Thyroid surgery is needed who does Dr Kreiger recommend please? Thanks in advance!!

Margarita Ramos-Morlans | Sep 6, 2020
Lara Paraskos | Sep 6, 2020

In case thyroid surgery is necessary, our office works closely with several surgeons. We can help facilitate an appointment if necessary. Our office has a new GE Ultrasound machine. The doctors can perform ultrasound and if necessary, thyroid fine needle aspiration (FNA) or biopsy if necessary. We perform adequacy verification during the procedure to minimize the number of aspiration attempts necessary. Most patients experience no discomfort!

Does Dr. Kreiger take Medicare and is she accepting new patients

Jessica High | Sep 7, 2018
