Another National Park center. The Rangers answered everyone's questions. They offered trip and tour tips. The park is very nice with the river being a great focus. We took a 45 minute 8 mile drive down to the New River and back up the opposite side. Stopping along the way for pictures and viewing.

Very Gorgeous views of the New river gorge and the welcome center is pretty neat to stop in and see as well! Nice little gift/museum/indoor theater here as well. With park rangers on duty to answer any questions you may have. After you visit go across the Bridge and Grab you an awesome bite to eat at Tudors Biscuit world..trust me you won't be disappointed! They sell Bisquits, burgers, hot dogs chicken strips etc all for a very affordable price! Fresh and filling. Looking for a weekend getaway that can be fun for both adults and kids check this spot out.

While we did not go inside the NPS building, the park and scenic walkway were amazingly beautiful. We wish we had time to take the scenic drive and to visit the rest of the park. We could have easily spent more than a day at this beautiful place.

Great place and a lovely view. The new river gorge bridge is an awesome scenic on place. It looks great any day any weather. We were fortunate to witness the clear view as well as the foggy view on the same day. Highly recommended and definitely a tourist favorite.

Yes
We were there last week and it was not
You will be fine at that time. It is a nice area to park and hike the designated trails. The restrooms may not be open at that time.
Not sure about Taurus but they have maps for you to drive through the Park. The information center has lots of stuff that little kids would like to look at
Yes there is a few Google it
About 4-5 miles, about a 15 minutes down to the river, roughly, depends on traffic also
