Nice area to ride your. 2wd isn't required on the main trail but the branches are difficult and require high clearance 4x4 vehicles. I took my motorcycle and had a very good time. Probably crowded here on weekends

This was a pretty easy place to load and unload an OHV, well designed. The problem was the number of people here on the July 4th weekend. The dirt roads were so crowded with cars, trucks, SUVs, dirt bikes, quads and Can-Ams, that it was barely a single lane on long stretches of the dirt road. Not really fun if you are trying to enjoy some lake time.

Beautiful views, so peaceful. Watched the sunset on another blessed day!

Great area to stage any OHV. A lot of trails for every type of rider. There are tables and bathrooms that are maintained. You can ride from Big bear to Silverwood lake. Highly recommend.

yes. there is a trail that goes around the lake. pilot rock hov is the parking area where you can park your car and trailer.
You could walk right to Silverwood Lake and get in the water and not have to drive on any dirt. If you don't mind driving on dirt there's multiple places you can stop and make a nice spot to hang out all day. The dirt road is pretty well-maintained even for a 2 wheel drive truck while have no problem
Sure, with a spark arester. if not just make sure that you out run BLM.
Definitely just don't park at the dam side. Lots of vehicles get broken in to there.
Gas stoves are ok, no charcoal.
There are times when the Rangers are up there and they will ask for registration and/or green sticker.
