If I could give ten stars I would. My husband and I planned a long weekend trip to Gettysburg. Upon arriving, we had issues with our original lodging plans and didn’t feel comfortable staying there. We booked at another hotel and when we went to check in, they told us they were totally booked and the availability they gave us was in error. We frantically began calling local B&B’s worried we wouldn’t find a place to stay and then we found George’s place. The receptionist who answered was kind and George got back to us quickly regarding availability. We booked the Thaddeus Steven’s room and headed over to check in. As soon as we pulled in we felt at home. The young girl working when we walked in knew exactly who we were and brought us up to our room. The room was so charming and even after all the nonsense we’d been through, we felt so grateful to have found the Mansion House and to be able to stay there. George let us know that there would be live music played by civil war reenactors in the garden that night. So we spent the night in, sat in the garden, ordered dinner and a bottle of local wine, all which were delicious. The next morning we had breakfast, the food and staff were amazing. Our final morning, it was just my husband and I and George prepared truly an amazing breakfast for us with all local foods. He sat with us and discuss the history of the inn and Gettysburg itself. It was such a wonderful experience, one we will always remember. We were sad to leave, but cannot wait to go back. We highly recommend the Mansion House 1757!

Food was a solid 5 star. The tavern was nice. Staff welcoming. Menu is short and being picky wasn't easy but ended up trying something new and loved it. It is pricey however. Figure $50/person at the least. We enjoyed the experience, the great food and overall happy. They have kids options not listed on the menu. Just ask. Comes with some really good fries :)

This is about the dining experience, not the lodging. We have been here in the past and really enjoyed the food and comradery. However, after changing hands a few times, it seems to have lost something. The atmosphere is still there with all the local history. Service was right on the mark with the recommendations for the most part. Their soups and drinks are perfect with plenty of variety for anyones taste. Their in-house specialty dessert is a welcome end to the meal. The main dinners however were a bit less than average for the high cost. I know food supplies have gone up in price and we expected that. But I hate to say this, our Hello Fresh dinners are better than what we were served. It just sucks because we have had some amazing food there in the past.

We went to the resturant for dinner on a Saturday night while they were also hosting a wedding. The bar was out of multiple of the special drinks, and the service was very slow. Our waitress was loud and physically touched several in our party multiple times throughout the evening. Our portion sizes were inconsistent and our steaks/prokchops were fattier than we would have liked; the sides were great. We will give them another try, maybe it was just an off night.
