I booked a car rental online, which was easy to do; however, if you end up needing to call them, good luck with that! I wanted to extend my rental and after several failed attempts (their prompt system goes in an endless circle leading nowhere), waiting until my pickup. When I asked about extending another 2 days, they charged me 1.5 times the rate as my online reservation. I mentioned preferring a GPS and they said they had a car with one. You have to go to a different location to get the car, and the attendant said there was no car with a GPS. I tried explaining this after drop off (I had to do a hurried drop off.), but no one cared as the paperwork said there was a GPS (even there there was not.) My charges ended up being significantly higher than they should of been and their customer service, both on the phone and in person is horrendous!!!

Had a great experience at Fox Rent A Car San Diego. I forgot to bring the CC that I'd booked the rental online with, but Marilyn was able to quickly rebook my reservation on another card for no additional cost/change fees. They refunded my original card right away. No Hassle! We got a super clean mini van and the check out process was easy and fast. Shout out to Wilbur who checked the car for us before we left the garage, he's hilarious. Return was fast & easy as well. Over all a great experience, nice clean car, friendly staff, and will rent from Fox again.

We had a great experience. We walked in, went right through, got someone immediately, and he was awesome. Shawn was the best -- he was awesome, gave us what we needed, and was even nice enough to upgrade our car because it was our first time using Fox! Would highly recommend over the other rental places.

We choose to go with this company thinking our 6 days would cost us $240 and it was a good deal. Unfortunately fox rental car is the spirit airlines of rental cars and in the end we paid almost $600 for 7 days. When we needed to add a day they charged us $120 for one day. We prepaid our gas, which I wouldn’t recommended. We were suppose to get a credit for returning the car with 1/2 a tank and when we returned it Matthew said we would be getting a credit. Once we received our invoice at the gate, no credit was given . Interesting this seems to be a pattern here. With all the fees and taxes we could have gone with a legit company and a way better car. Our car smelled like wet dog and was pretty beat up. When we tried to call the company to add a day or find out about our gas credit we are transferred to India and have to deal with frustrating service. No thanks fox. No worth it!

They are the worst!
If the office area is closed try going upstairs to the Fox car area, they have booths in the car lots that often have a service member available.
Yes you can but there's are added terms and conditions for it...
Luckily this is one of the few agencies that do allow you to take the car to Mexico. You just have to inform them when you're getting all the paperwork in getting your car .. they will charge you extra money per day for the Mexico insurance but it is not too much.. I don't remember the exact number but it was between $30-$39.. I hope this info Helps! :)
Fox rental gives you till 12pm for return. Though not sure if you can go to another fox location (I would assume yes), you would need to call and verify with your location. And yes shuttles will be available
I used an out of state card without issue or extra charge. Also, condolences.
No call required. Follow the signs to the rental car busses (up an escalator walk the over pass, down an escalator to the busses. Fox has the sign over their door.

I think* it was $150
Yep, they take a deposit of 150 with CC don't know with debit.
Yes, in the San Diego airport, all of the rental car places are at a building away from the actual airport, so there is a shuttle back and forth.
Not sure, but all they do with your ID is scan it into their system so a paper copy might suffice. Best bet is to call them.
I don't think this company exists waited 30 minutes on phone. No response same for online
You can do it online. It is an additional $25 per day for an extension. Better off with a new rental!
Fox policy at San Diego Airport does not allow you to drive into Mexico.
Are you looking for help? The front desk will not help at all. There is no direct number to them.
My overall experience was not bad. The actual cost matched what my estimated price was. And my rental vehicle was perfect. So at least for me, I would recommend them. I used Fox in San Diego CA. At the airport.
