As always, Richard and his fine staff made our anniversary dinner memorable. Their coconut shrimp are uniquely prepared and delicious. The Perfect 10 martini with gorganzola stuffed olives was a great mix with perfectly prepared steaks. Just the right amount of attention kept our table cleared and waters refilled. Great job!

Ate dinner last Tuesday at Opal and was our first time dining there. Our dining experience was exceptional, food was well presented and cooked perfectly, service was top notch, shoutout to our server Sabina for being very friendly, attentitive to us and checking in on us frequently, also shoutout to the manager and hostess for also being friendly to us. Overall, I highly recommend checking out Opal and definitely be back again. :)

Wonderful food, wonderful staff. Richard was so kind and helpful and patient with myself and my mother when trying to schedule my graduation dinner. Everything went with such ease, everyone had a wonderful time, and everyone enjoyed the food! Their steak was amazing. Sabina, our waitress, was exceptional in every way, between remembering everyone's food and drink orders, to being informative about the menu. Thank you Richard, Sabina and all Opal staff! We will for sure be coming back.

Opal has a really nice selection of menu items. I love the attention to detail of the outdoor seating on State Street. You'll especially like Opal's mushroom-based dishes, if that's your thing. If you're looking for a relaxed pace, nice dining experience that's not overdressed, this is your spot

Dear Donna Thank you for thinking of us, and yes we have many options: In addition to many gluten-free salads, we don’t add flour to any of our sauces, so most meat and fish dishes are gluten-free. We have recently added Gluten Free corn-based Fusilli pasta to our lineup, so any of our pastas can be made Gluten Free by substituting this pasta. Or instead of pasta, in its place we can offer a delicious mélange of Julienne Vegetables. Finally, except for pizzas, most entrees only have one ingredient that needs to be removed to make it gluten free. For desserts, our Like Water for chocolate Surprise, crème brulee, and sorbet are all Gluten-Free We have committed to keep expanding the list of items we offer that are gluten free, as we find high quality products that support that commitment. Dear Patsy. We are sorry but opal restaurant and bar is not open for lunch on weekends or weekdays. As our lunch is more business-driven, we may resume weekday lunch service when enough people return to their offices. Opal restaurant and bar covid-19 safety standards. Currently we're only allowed takeout or delivery, with no onsite dining until Covid restrictions lifted. We've always adhered to all Covid protocols. Those applicable to Takeout Only listed below: Staff trained to socially distance from guests & each other, properly & periodically sanitize all surfaces, pens, & other touchable objects, & wear masks and gloves at all times. Staff temp taken upon start of shift. Staff with any illness are required to call in and not allowed to come to work until well. Clear signage out front reminds guests to maintain proper social distancing and wear mask within our area. Guests offered disposable menus and/or option to view menu online via phone/tablet.& may order online delivery or curbside pickup also. Call in orders encouraged to give Credit card over phone to minimize contact. Doors kept open during service. UV wands used for sanitation. Alcoholic beverages are only allowed with food.

Yes, we have some outside seating that works well for guests with pets. However, the availability of that is dependent on the seasons, so please check re any specific date you might want to book to see how feasible it might be on that occasion.
