Worst service of any historical library and archives in the Midwest. I planned to do research here and sent notification of my arrival and the holdings I wanted to use a week in advance. I even said in the notice, that I was giving a heads up just in case the holdings were at an off-site location. When I arrived nothing was waiting for me and I had to wait 40 minutes for them to retrieve the collection. Add to that I had paid full time on a 2hr maximum parking meter and it became a waste of time and money. The sign-in was routine stuff, but the lack of preparedness, despite notice and then the wait were unprofessional and inconsiderate. Finally, they claimed to be having problems with the only elevator and it was in use to move equipment. THIS IS WHY I EMAILED A WEEK IN ADVANCE.

Great for doing specific Nebraska location research or looking into family history not great as a general interest museum.

Questions & Answers

I have somewhere around 80 years of National Geographic Magazines. I am looking for a good home for them. Does the Nebraska State Historical Society want them? If not, do you know of someone or organization that would? Thanks so much.

That's a great collection, Keith. We don't accept general interest magazines like National Geographic into our collections, but we appreciate you thinking of us! We don't have a specific suggestion for you, but maybe you can reach out to any nursing or retirement homes, prisons, hospitals, or schools in your area?

I have a CORNHUSKER of 1947 yearbook. Any interest?
