Absolutely worthless, useless, inept, pick any adjective to describe them. Drunk drivers, reckless drivers (with kids in the vehicles), vehicles running others off the road, passing stopped school busses, etc, Onslow County Sheriff's Dept can't be bothered to enforce any of these. You probably have to be killed in an accident for them to take action, and they'd find a way to blame you.

This is the worst department I have ever seen. None of the officers even care about finding the truth. My children are being abused and have the abuse on recordings and they are in the front yard laughing like everything is a joke, meanwhile the kids are scared to death and have themselves locked in their bedrooms to try and stay away from these people, but hey apparently that's something to laugh about. Worthless set of individuals I have ever seen.

Employees were very helpful before I even got into the building. I had issues with knowing were to park and one of the sheriffs deputy’s assisted me with out delay and was generally very jovial. Once inside the gentlemen at the information center was more than helpful and had a very nice demeanor about himself, in fact everyone there actually had an awesome disposition about themselves.

Ultimately it will depend on where the events occured. Your best bet is probably to go down to the Magistrate's office and speak to a magistrate. Thier office is located in the same building as the Sheriff's Office. And if you do need to speak to JPD, thier office is just across the street.

You're best bet would probably be to contact a lawyer, the sherriffs office might have this information but they simple enforce the laws and probably don't have the extensive knowledge a lawyer would.
