If I could rate this facility less than 1 star, I would. There may be 4 staff that do their job and actually care about the veterans, but everyone else is miserably unprofessional. The "doctor" that I saw there for primary failed to listen to my health concerns, which led me to going elsewhere for care! Save your time and well-being, and go to Star Medical on Western or JCMC.

Never been turned away from a VA even while traveling. I came down with covid symptoms over the weekend and did not feel like making the trip to Wilmington sick, which I learned today this is the reason I go there... I went here instead...bad decision. After waiting I was turned away, while clearly sick...Went to emergent care and luckily I have insurance. to get tested and get work involved so im not missing out on pay ect. Overall I understand the load on healthcare right now but do not turn away a sick person via walk-in. My 2 pesos, go to Wilmington, its worth the drive.

It’s been almost a week I’ve been out of my medications and the “reliable” mail out is yet to show up. I tried to call to talk to someone and called first thing at 8am to be hung up on pretty much every time until 9am only to be told i had to drive all the way from new bern to get a temp script. Then sent to another clinic just to get it. And they wonder why my disability just keeps going up and why vets keep dying if this is how they treat them. ESPECIALLY IN A MILITARY TOWN!!! smh

While I realize that the wait to be admitted into the VA health system can be long and arduous, once you are in, your care is amazing. I feel like when I go to my appointments, I am heard and taken care of. My care providers are so easy to reach through MyHealtheVet and just today, I sent a message about a prescription that was given to me by a specialist, and my rep responded and even found out where I could pick it up so that I can find relief. Above and beyond. Thank you so much to the staff. And for the vets waiting for care, be patient, it’s worth the wait. Everything will be okay.

I do have them brother and that's a fact!! The East coast VA Medical System is horrible!!
Hey there, first you print out the lifetime disabled license form from the NC wildlife resource commission website. Then you take it to the onslow county VA office to have them fill out their portion. Once completed, you send it with payment to address on the form to get processed. They will send you the gold card and paper license in the mail a few weeks later.
Go to the VA in Wilmington or Jacksonville and ask to have an appt with tge triage nurse
A hope and a prayer
No, you have to got to the wilmington va and make a appointment
You have to have your labs ordered then just pull in and tell them you're there for labs.
On base
That will depend on where you live. Wilmington is definitely bigger. Jacksonville isnt anything but a dr office. But to file for disability, you need to go talk to a VSO and they will get it started for you. If you're in Jacksonville, theres a VSO over kinda by where the vehicle licensing building is I believe. Hope this helps!
Unless it's an emergency take him there. If he doesn't have a primary team and lives in the area they will enter him in their system for continual care.
Do a walk in at the VA on Henderson Dr. They will help you out.
Yes Jacksonville, next to Golds gym across from Academy sports on Henderson Drive
7:30-12:30 Monday through Friday
Not that I am aware of, though I believe there may be one at the Wilmington HCC.
