Very enjoyable tour of the bay full of informative details about arcata Bay and some humboldt history. Captain was very knowledgeable.

I highly recommend the historic harbor cruise, but advise caution when booking the eco-wildlife cruise. Check the tide tables before booking the eco-wildlife cruise. If it will be high tide, for the once a week wildlife cruise, take a harbor cruise later in the day instead. At high tide, the sand bars and mud flats will be under water, so no foraging shore birds and no seals or sea lions taking a snooze. What's a wildlife cruise without wildlife? I do wish the Madaket people would check the tide tables and only schedule their wildlife cruises when there will be wildlife to see. Thankfully I'm a local, so will try again when the tide will be at 2.5 feet or lower. I know from my bird-watching experience from area walks that shore birds are active around mud flats then.

Fun and inexpensive experience, if you spend a lot of time on the northern coast, it's definitely recommended for the price. Boat does tend to have a ton of people on it though, and if you don't arrive early you won't get a seat.

Enjoyable and informative. Descriptive history of the bay, it's industries and local ecology.
