Historical site from an early 20th century in Skull Valley. If you are interested in the history of the area it is worth a stop. Near a portion of the Oregon trail and the original Pony Express routes.

Very interesting! Being this Cemetery appears in Yellowstone & near Terra where we want to move we just had to go see it. All about the Tongan Mormons that crossed the plains & or immigrated here it is full of interesting reading & rich history from that time. At the entrance gate we found a blue cement pole..hand painted with words " Donnations" Not being of Tongan decent or even Mormon we gathered up all our green bills & shoved the $ in the slot. Someone has to be paid to upkeep & keep the area nice for us to come see..Please be reverent & respectful & don't allow your small children to run around & up & down isle or rows. Interesting note, majority of graves had a box built of wood strip around them forming a square & inside & filling the square were small round, semi shiny beautiful rocks, so tempting to take one DON'T, curious what it was all about I googled " rocks covering graveside of Tongan Nationals, ans was.. that at the time the congregation & followers covered the burial site with rocks hoping to keep the persons good spirits inside the person & vault & keep the outside bad spirits from digging in " Very Interesting..So worth the beautiful drive getting here & keep you eyes on the plains & horizons, fields & hills..if your lucky you will get to see the wild Horse herds that call that area home!
