DMV has finally got it together. I was met at the front door by a nice gentleman who gave me a number, checked the progress for me and told me there was one number before me and it would only be few minutes wait. That never happened before. He was correct! I only waited a few minutes and I was called to the counter where a nice lady helped me. Not only 5 minutes later I was walking out the door with a smile on my face. Thank you for your help!

Capitola DMV has a great staff. Quick service. Normally you hear the classic complaint about the DMV being slow. In my experience, going at different times of the day, Capitola DMV gets our business taken care of in an average of a half hour.

Capitola DMV is amazing. I’ve never waited more than 20 minutes for service and all the staff is helpful and pleasant. This is the best DMV location I’ve been to.

Actually this was one of my best experiences with DMV. I don't know if more people are doing their stuff on line or what but hardly anyone was there around 12:35 on a Wednesday afternoon. The clerk was very nice and friendly and I was out of there by 1:05.

no, try the aaa office
Look on web site DMV CA
Yes I have done this at other locations and this one should be no different. Plus this location rarely has a line and they are very friendly. You can head on over and they will take care of you
Yes your current Drivers License will work up through 9/30/19. Starting on 10/1/2020 you will need the new Federal ID or valid US Passport when boarding a US airplane.
I was there last Tuesday at 10 I got my liscence plates in less than 15 minutes.
You can either go to the DMV website, or go into the office, and ask for a print out for about $2.
How much to renew my ID card
2-ids, i.e passport, birth certificate, CA id or dl, greencard... 2 documents, bills, showing your address(es), utilities and or tax bill... If you have a separate mailing address, these docs MUST show both addresses
Yes. Bike rack in front
You should be able to go in and they'll take a new picture, since it's expired
Rent a car or use a friend's car.
I have no idea. Only scale is in Salines. Is it on TX reg. To reg it without buco bucks it has to have sign under hood emissions for a 50 states. Or else use an address in Texas to get their licenses. They can mail the tags to you.
All plates must be registered to the specific vehicle.
no
2 weeks
Go into the office
It was a couple of weeks ago. I needed to register a trailer and get replacement license plates. I went early. I waited a little while, but was in and out in less than an hour, including the trailer inspection.
Registration tags are usually two weeks in the mail . Title transfer took me about 2 months last time I bought a vehicle. If you call the 800 number they can track it down in the system for you.
I went directly to the DMV offices to do it.
I can go by & look. I know they have one INSIDE, but I don't know about outside. You could call & ask, IF you can get through. I can't guarantee that I can get back on this spot to answer you.
It's a bit frustrating waiting on DMV mail I know. I took myself to the local dmv office and the wait was not long and everyone inside was very nice and helpful. So maybe check with them.
You can. But I think you should not. Get the real ID when he applies for DL. Otherwise you will end up having to have two IDs. One DL and the other one for federal checks
Answer only available from the DMV
Online is the best way. If you have to have in-person help, you can get an appointment. But ONLY if you need to, according to the DMV.
As far as I see it.. they were supposed to open today

Yes, the DMV has booklets about Drivers rules of the road.
No
Yes, you may walk in without an appointment at any time they're open. The day I went in there would've been very little waiting. They took me about 25 mins. early for my appointment even. It went very slick.
You'll need to search the DMV website. They sell numerous types of license plates for every taste.
Yes. This DMV is very systemic. They know how to expedite the process. There is a nice gentleman there to guide people to show which window to go to.
CA vehicles must have a catalytic converter/ emissions control device and pass a SMOG test before they can be registered

Go to dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/dmv/onlinesvcs/appointment
It's a good idea. Don't think it is mandatory.
https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/dmv/onlinesvcs/appointment
Yes. To change the car into your name it must pass a smog test. But, when buying a used car, the seller is required by law to have a less than 90 day old smog test to give you with the car.
Proof of residency, birth certificate, nc id, passport if you have one
Yes. If you want to get a license for travel there are a number of things that you have to bring to dmv, passport, utility bill social security or w2. Look online for the list.
I believe it's legal because she's 18
Forever and a day.
No. The DMV already has your information.
Just go into DMV, and request a new one. They will give you the form you need.
They are both separate. US postal service has a website as well.
You need to find a new one or walk in.
You can use a debit card I did last time I was there.
None. You just need to know your name, birthdate, and address (ID/ License number is helpful, but not mandatory).
It's always better to make an appointment because lines will be shorter the problem is that appointments are usually not available for at least two weeks. Good luck.
I don't think you'd have to be with him to take his driver's test but that would be a question for the DMV.
