If your looking for Dominican food. Mama Elena is your choice in Passaic. ***Avoid this place at all cost*** was told order would be ready in 15 and waited 40 to get my order. Once i get home, my order is incorrect so i return to get my money back and they want to say they can only give me a store credit cause they cannot cance partial order, knowing that they can just cancel the full order and resubmit excluding what i no longer want. Once i suggested why not do this, they had no answer and proceeded to return my money. Mind you, when i originally went to pick up my order, an uber driver was outside super mad cause his order was delayed as well. This was at a time the restaurant was not busy and completey empty. I spent over and hour on this back and fourth for the employees to dry to throw the blame on each other. This is the 2nd issue i have woth them and will no longer return. Went to Mama Elena in Passaic and have never had an issue and menu hs a lot more options

Save your money. The chicken sandwich that I ordered was basically old pollo guisado that they tore up and put in a sandwich and it still had bones!!! Bones!!!. The Cuban sandwich has thick slices of spam and barely any pernil.... plus they charged like 30 dollars for this mess. Completely a waste of money. I would of been better off not getting anything.

I was there off peak so it was empty, but the atmosphere was still there. It's set up like a lounge and has a great living room feel. It looks great for Friday nights, sporting events etc...I ordered a Cuban and a Papaya smoothie. The Cubano was toasted to perfection with the right combo of ingredients, it was top notch. The hero is extra large, definitely alot if bang for the buck. The Papaya smoothie was phenomenal! Come here and enjoy!

The place is awesome, the owner is nice and funny, and the mood is outstanding. Nice and authentic music was played, the food was delicious, and the crowd was dancing and having fun. I would highly recommend this place if you want an authentic Caribbean ambiance!
