I have been a member of the Tapestry community for about 10 months, and it has been such a special experience--please join us to see what it's all about! I am a church newbie but at Tapestry, Pastor B and Pastor Kyle have built a church where everyone gets to feel like they belong. Their sermons bring the stories of the bible to life in such a relatable way, and they offer weekly Connect Groups that provide tremendous support and allow you to really get to know other members and reflect on your own journey. I also appreciate the combination of in person, virtual, and Spanish-speaking services available. Thank you, Tapestry community, for all you are doing to bring people together.

Open-minded, kind, and loving church community where you won't feel out of place. Culturally diverse, justice-oriented and non-judgmental congregation and pastoral staff. The messages/sermons meet you where you are at and doesn't try to force anything. I wasn't necessarily looking for a church but now feel part of the family! Even my Jewish husband feels the love!

in searching for a church home in my city, Tapestry welcomed me as family and without even realizing it, I became a part of the family. I joined a connect group and started going to their events and online classes during covid. looking forward to joining them in person later this year.

Diverse community, quality preaching, social-justice focused, and just amazing, real people doing life together. This was the first church I visited after moving to Oakland from New York. I visited many after but none even came close to comparing. Visit- you won't be disappointed.

Hi Deborah! In June 2018, Oakland Communion and The Way Church united to form Tapestry Church. You can find more about that story in this SF Chronicle article: https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/Black-white-Oakland-churches-to-merge-into-one-12961726.php I hope that answers your question. Hope to see you on Sunday!
Thanks, Jewell, for your question! Yep! That's right, Glen. It's 10:30am on Sunday mornings at Learning Without Limits school. If you need any other information about our Sunday service please check out this page: https://www.tapestryoakland.org/come-this-sunday Hope to see you sometime soon!
Hi Andrew! Thanks for asking. Well, possibly, depending on what the needs were. But we actually meet in a school on Sundays, so we don't have our own building and if you wanted to rent space you would need to speak with Learning Without Limits school. I hope that helps!
